Loma has nothing to fear in terms of power, it might take him a round or two to get the timing down, but once he does, he walks down, dismantles, beats up and stops Haney with relative ease.

i think its a bad match up for loma. i like haney.
lomas game is in his legs first, it positions him at angles his short arms can score from. and hes fast. haney is just as fast of legs, but he is longer. and he likes to keep fighters at the end of the stick. loma is going to struggle to get to his favored positions, while haney is scoring and dictating distance with that jab.
it will be close, as haney is not the type to take many chances, but he will stay slightly ahead. enough to get a split decision. lots of other factors come into play, but thats the result of what i see happening.

Loma has learned how to deal with excessive clinches so Haney can't clinch and not get punished like he has been.

If Loma still has it he can win this and I would pick him, but I'm not particularly confident:
    - he is getting old and there is a chance his feet have slowed down too much
    - it might take him too long to get going, Haney is quite long and has a good jab

I think that Loma will beat him up and stop him it will look similar to the Nakatani fight.

This is not an easy fight for Loma. I have Loma winning it, but it's not an easy fight. Loma is getting older, but I think he has about another year or so before the slowdown becomes noticeable. He's already experience what I've hated most about aging, which is that amount of time my body needs to recover. I could hit the gym, train, then train again at night. Then I'd get up after six hours of sleep and feel amazing. Now I need a day—sometimes TWO days. That IS where you first start to notice the aging effects.

Anyway, people shouldn't look at Kambosos as some kind of barometer for how he'll fair against Haney. Loma has so many tools to deal with the hugging and clinching, while Kamosos hand zero tools. Haney can't fight on the inside either, and Loma is one of the best at fighting on the inside. Haney tried fighting Linares on the inside and almost was KO'd. He fought JoJo on the inside and was wobbled/buzzed several times (and JoJo can't punch). So after that, he decided to say "to hell with fighting on the inside; I'll just clinch." It's a huge hole in his game. Massive.

Haney can't generate power (what little he can generate) unless he's on the outside. All Loma has to do is cut that range and fight in the midrange and inside. That's it, and Loma has the tools to do that.

Who thinks Haney can consistently keep Loma from closing the distance? If you think he can, then maybe you will be betting on Haney. But if you don't believe that Haney can consistently fight on the outside for 12 rounds, then you know what's going to happen. Loma becomes undisputed champion of the lightweight division.

Not sure it was entirely intentional, but that's poetry right there...
