Boxing is not the best anymore

I was at a mates house last weekend for the UFC PPV I could hardly sit through that **** boring AF

 

You sign up for a boxing forum and one of your first posts is to say no one wants to watch boxing anymore. My man, you are in the wrong place.

 

I am actually more interested in watching Jake Paul Anderson Silva this weekend than the UFC last week which was supposed to be one of their biggest cards of the year.

Boxing is a ridiculously hard sport to follow, with all the ppv’s, apps, premium channels, foreign channels that I can’t even get, but it is the BEEZ KNEEZ!!!!!!!! **** off!

 

Contact sports are dying. all team sports are legislating physicality out of their games. Few complain, most stick up for it.

Boxing is going through some bad times let's repeat the same argument that boxing is on it's way out from the 80's, 90's, 00's, 10's here and now in the 20's.

 

That card didnt live up to expectations and was still better than any full start to finish boxing card ive seen in nearly 30 years as a boxing fan. Boxing does not produce "events" the way the UFC does.

 

MMA is objectively more exciting than boxing. Are you saying someone cant be a boxing fan unless they pretend otherwise?

I see quite the opposite: boxing is fine as always, now for more than 100 years. Have some problems especially at heavyweight, but overall is good. MMA however seems like stopped being that interesting and exciting, it resembles more and more to the pro-wrestling which is bad. Fighters aren't that good as they were like some 10 years ago and back. Adding the crappy rules of UFC and there you have it.

 

As opposed to back when they had a literal pro wrestler as the biggest star in the company? or when Ken Shamrock returned from the WWF and fought Tito 3x (even though he lost every fight and was coming off of losses to other people each time) and those were the biggest fights in the UFC up to that point? or when Pride had fixed fights like Coleman taking a dive for pro wrestler Takada?

Not really. It was more that that late 00s/early 10s time period you're describing just happened to have multiple big name ATGs holding belts at the same time, so its celebrated. But the overall talent pool is as strong or probably stronger than it was back then and MUCH stronger than it was before those days.
