Herbie Hide vs John Ruiz

Ruiz's win over Johnson was a quality win IMO. Johnson was in good shape by his standards. He was 238 for Ruiz, as opposed to 260 for V. Klitschko. Ruiz was ahead on all three cards when that fight ended, and had dropped Johnson the round before. Also, don't forget that Ruiz was a Cruiserweight himself for his first 15 or so fights. Holyfield, IIRC, had a pretty good win over Rahman after the Ruiz trilogy, so he had something left when he fought Ruiz. 2 time Heavyweight belt holder and made a few defenses. Not an ATG by any means, but not a bad resume at all IMO.

BTW, I'd favor him over Hide in a toss-up sort of a fight. Ruiz had a horrendous style, but it usually got him bye. I think he'd stop Hide in a similar manner that he stopped Oquendo....maybe 10th or 11th round..
