Used to see a lot of threads about him, now, not so much.
Light middle champ a good few years, and times.
Shaky chin, see Simon Brown, but the guy had talent.
    Whats your take on him?
Where do you rate him at light middle?

Very talented fighter but I dont see him having a long reign w stiff competition especially punchers. Don't think he had the durability or discipline to. Would've loved to see him against McCallum but we both agree that he wouldve stopped Terry.

Top 3 all time light middleweight with a very strong argument for the number 1 position.

Love Terry, fast hands, feet, ko power in both hands, and could put together some really punishing combinations. His main set back was his chin, so he was basically a glass cannon.

I think he made the most of his career for what he was at 154. He was pretty small for the weight and it was common for him to weigh in a couple pounds under; Think he would’ve been better off being a career welterweight. He also wouldn’t rehydrate much if at all. He’d get physically overwhelmed by guys like McCallum and Vasquez. Nice title reign though with some solid wins, but stayed in the game way too long.

An exceptionally talented offensive fighter with an average at bet chin that did not compliment his offensive balls to the wall style ... when highly disciplined like the Brown rematch and against the faded Leonard he was very very tough ...

The McCallum fight,, absolutely he gets hammered.
Not sure how he'd try and take it to him but whatever, he's getting stopped

The term "glass cannon" comes to mind.

So unbelievably talented that if it were not for that chin he would be consensus #1 at Lt Middle

    Still, a top 10 and a ATG.

Was thinking the same about the Brown rematch. THAT version of Terry Norris probably even beats McCallum. He was faster of hand and foot than McCallum, and had great boxing skills. Would still rate McCallum higher though. If I had to rank them at 154:

    1) Mike McCallum
    2) Julian Jackson
    3) Thomas Hearns
    4) Terry Norris
    5) Jermell Charlo

Wasn't sure where to rank Hearns, being that he only had 4 title fights at 154, but that included Benitez & Duran. He was great at that weight. Charlo deserves to be in the conversation at this point. He unified the division and is 8-1 in title fights, with a bogus loss to Harrison IMO.

The funny part is he probably could beat McCallum skill wise but the IQ/discipline aint there. Those body shots would come in handy while McCallum is chopping him down for an eventual stoppage.

Very fast and hard hitting great skills chin not so great '' unfortunately linked to have a scrap rather than box . I think he could of taken Jackson in a rematch .A fight with Benn would of been awesome but I think Benn wins in short violent encounter !!!.

Very gifted fighter, especially his offensive skills. Two fisted puncher, very fast handed and puts together nice punch combinations. Also a very skilled boxer but seems more intent on slugging it out up close a bit too often, which makes him a very exciting fighter to watch. His defense can be porous which doesn’t help that his chin is very vulnerable and fragile. Also known for being overly aggressive and having a hot temper where he loses his cool the moment he sees someone put down but can’t seem to help himself keep his composure which has led to his DQ losses to much lesser fighters.

He’s mostly known as the guy that beat up washed up world class fighters at the end of their careers such as SRL, Curry, and Taylor but he was really an excellent 154 lb fighter. I would go far as to say he’s one of the best fighter of that division alongside McCallum, Hearns, Wright.

Yeah Norris was certainly blessed with unreal hand speed but I agree that McCallum would grind him down and stop him.

You make a valid point, if things were evened up with Norris, better chin, less reckless, sticking to a plan, then it's perhaps a different fight altogether.
