Pretty sure Whateley is packing glass. He was badly hurt by 45yo Oganov who is a natural 168er.

I really hope Masternak and Wlodarczyk can win tonight. I've been following them ever since I started the sport. :chuck:

Masternak looks a little sluggish so far, plodding forward with little to no head movement.

Whateley has been landing the jab consistently and got close with a few dangerous looking right crosses, it will be interesting to see how he reacts when Masternak lands a flush shot though.

Much better rd 4 for Masternak, he landed some thudding bodyshots and a beautiful left uppercut midway through the round.
Whateley seems to be slowing down slightly now and looks more tentative

Round 6 was close but I thought Masternak edged it by landing the more eye catching shots. Whateleys jab is still giving him trouble though and he is looking marked up around the eyes now

This is a pretty good fight, a lot more even than I thought it would be. Round 8 had the best action of the fight so far.
Masternak is ahead now 5-3 on my card but he has clearly slowed down and doesn't fight with the same intensity he used to have a few years ago.

Whateley probably won't win a world title but he's a decent fighter, tall for the division with good footwork and sharp straight punches, he just lacks variety and doesnt look comfortable on the inside.
