If Wilder is the definitive worst skilled champion in history, then who is the second? Any era, any weight class(although he's bound to be a heavyweight).
I don't think Wilder is the worst champ. He may be the least skilled, but it's about being effective not about being technical. Wilder would still, I think, KO other champs from the past that were decent. Wilder is the least technically skilled professional boxer of all time, but he's effective. I'd say maybe the worst world champ is probably Charles Martin or Stiverne. Just ****ing lol at this ****.
Wilder isnt the worst however as far as bad champions go... Charles Martin, followed closely by Bermane Stiverne, whom I'm told has now dedicated his life - as never before- to regaining the world heavyweight title. He decided to go after the championship. "With every ounce of my being I have dedicated myself to this comeback. I have worked spiritually, mentally, personally and physically to this goal. I have gone to the mountains, the desert, dieted, lived a life of sacrifice and deprivation to mold myself into a fighting machine. I have boxed a thousand rounds, run hundreds of miles and worked my body into the greatest shape of my career in pursuit of my world heavyweight title. My frustration and anger are at the bursting point. I have worked my body into a machine of destruction." -Bermane Stiverne. So eye him as a potential future opponent of Jake "Sweet Sugar Hands Money" Paul for only $49.99
Wilder. Martin was gash and so was Stiverne. But they didn't have their team pad the **** out of their record to the point it seemed like they would probably surpass Marciano. Not to mention that he cannot box. Godly power but **** poor skills. Second? Stiverne or Ricky Burns.
If we're going to judge they should have at least one title defense.... I'll roll with Valuev, that big dumb oaf Wilder would spark him.
Gotta be Martin, I mean he didn't even legit win a world title - round 2 or 3, opponents knee blows out without a punch landing... Idk how that goes down as a TKO
