Crawford said he didn't know how much he was getting paid. Is that normal when a contract or proposal is presented? Now, if he doesn't understand percentages and Hayman said he cannot give Crawford a solid number until the gate and PPV are tallied, then yes, trusting an attorney makes sense. I doubt that is the case.

You can have it different ways. He was getting 35% of revenues which was projected to guarantee him at least $15Million likely more if it did great business. Spence was not getting a guarantee for his 65% of revenue either which would have guaranteed him upwards of $20M. That is exactly the case which is why he was give a projection rather than a guranteed fee. Crawford started negotiations asking for a guaranteed fee of $22 Million which he had no chance of getting from anyone other than a fictitious so salled Venture capitalist Fund. Trust me having worked with such investment funds in my career he may wish he was back with Bob Arum.

Neither of them are PBC fighters. Yes they made good money fighting PBC fighters but lets not pretend that Mayweather/Pac didn't happen far too late and that Wilder/Fury 1 wasn't a cherry pick. It made Pac and Floyd insanely rich but for boxing it was a black eye to the sport of boxing that this fight didn't happen when it mattered.

Also both Fury and Wilder would of made more fighting Joshua than each other but Wilder wasn't allowed to fight Joshua and Fury was forced to fight Wilder a 3rd time for less money than he would have gotten for Joshua.

Broner not being allowed to sign the Roc Nation deal is another example and now he's broke. Peter Quillin forced to not take his then highest payday and give up his belt. Yes Haymon rewarded him later for his loyalty and Haymon should be commended for that. He does do right by his fighters if it aligns with his own interests.

Agree Spence/Hayman didn’t want the fight in a win/win situation. They wanted to screw Crawford and he wasn’t having it. It’s pitiful

You have legit lost the plot…I can’t fathom you actually believing this. I’m a fan of both guys and have no dog in the fight, asking for transparency isn’t something to be discouraged.

To me, it sounds more like Crawford did not understand the percentages. He wanted solid numbers, which is impossible to know before hand. I highly doubt that he ducked because of fear or doesn't want to fight Spence.

what I do know is that Fury and Pacquiao got career high pay days when fighting in PBC matches which tells you all you need to know. The difference between you and I is that I want boxers to maximise their incomes. I rejoice at the record breaking numbers of Mayweather vs Pacquiao. AJ and Wilder may still fight. Wilder and Fury became multi millionaires on PBC card and they still both have a chance of getting the AJ money. AJ has made Usyk a multimillionaire. Please stop with your bull**** narrative as if you have some moral superiority. Boxing is not just a sport its a business. Some of you guys need a reality check in the business of boxing. In fact the 34 year old Crawford is about to get a crash course in the realities when his fight with Avenesyan tanks.

The difference between us is I have managed boxers and have worked on PBC contracts you have not. Yes there is a reason I respect Al Haymon because anybody who makes boxers more money is great for boxers and boxing.

I agree, not being paid is the ultimate screw job. Still, for a blue-collar fighter like Vazquez to immediately lose his title to a paper champion like Mickey Bey hurts his future earning capacity. Even if Vasquez earned a career-high payday by essentially signing his title over to Haymon's fighter (Mickey Bey), it's still disrespectful to conduct this type of transaction in a McDonald's.

Bud's going to be fine. He'll wind up in the IBHOF and we'll always wonder what would've happened in a fight with Spence.
