Does being undefeated mean anything anymore?

Never did. Though some people definitely like to flaunt that as they live vicariously through a fighter. It’s always been about who you beat and when.

There are like 7 or 8 guys in the top ten right now at welterweight that are undefeated, when everyone is undefeated it just means no one is fighting each other.

Some old timer stated "Show me a fighter who is undefeated and I will show you are fighter who hasn't fought anybody"

The only thing being undefeated means is we see elite guys fighting taxi drivers and bin men as they don't want to risk the 0 against other elite guys.
Everyone cares more for the 0 than their own legacy.
All the greatest boxers of the past all had elite losses and elite wins but are all classed as elite themselves as they fought other elite guys in there primes.
Records are for DJ's the sooner boxers see this we may get new young fans into the sport instead of kids watching MMA instead. Boxing will be dead and buried in the next 10 years I'd it carrys on with this trogetory. Promototors are also a massive problem Hearn in particular.

Never did. Bring back the days when fighters actually fought everyone, didn't hold on to their precious 0, and weren't afraid to lose a fight.

Why don't you ask (maybe creating a topic) "the people who insist" whatever? Am i their representative? I wonder, do those people who believe Fury lost his first McDermott fight know that a knockdown means nothing when you fairly win? How about fighters like Vitali who's never been knocked down, but has two losses? Then how about, let say, the fan score in BoxRec where fans judge this McDermott fight close, but 96:95 for Fury?

I wondered how long it'll take for someone to repeat that bullsh*t after the fact Fury mocked at that clinching f*g even with a point deduct.

I agree with you, but you see how it is - it is more important to hate whenever you can on someone. So those people knew Fury actually is undefeated, by mentioning him here, they confirm it. Yet, they rush to blurb whatever... No one said his record is perfect, it isn't, whether the first Wilder fight was fair in decision, but whatever it is, he is undefeated so far. Still, they tell you like "it doesn't matter, he's been knocked down". Like it matters... A knockdown matters only until the fight ends, after that is the result.

Lol, why would I create a useless thread to reaffirm what I already know?

Being undefeated just brings scrutiny to your resume

Only a handful or less of the current generation are undefeated because they are super sexy

Guys like Crawfish have never had a real fight ever

Nope. Most of the ATG'S in the history of boxing have taken L's. In fact most undefeated fighters are mostly criticized for having that 0, always being accused of ducking fighters and padding their records with unworthy opponents. So in most cases having a 0 means nothing.

The same reason you discuss something "you already know".
