I hope he picks up a real trainer and doesn't waste all he's learned and CAN do. He should be great. I think haney will be dumbfounded by the southpaw boxing of loma. Haney has a decent jab, but everything else falls apart technically for him. That’s where Loma’s gonna get him. Haney just has his size to his advantage, Loma is a superior boxer.

Not sure on the outcome of this fight Loma is slipping and his window might have passed now ... and the string pullers will certainly want the younger US star to win... one thing about haney though is he doesn't have great footwork.. he's Athletic and has that annoying jab & grab style but stylistically I dont think he poses the risk of an Ortiz or Lopez.. he doesn't carry much power & is fairly predictable, but he's huge at the weight & his jab is excellent & Loma tends to struggle more with these big LWs who know how to keep a jab in his face all night & are able to use their range & size .. Linares, Lopez & Ortiz showed that somewhat... I'm not writing him off because he is exceptional but the sport is a young man's game so it will probably favour Haney .. respect to Loma he's intent on flogging this lightweight undisputed dead horse rather than going back to super featherweight which is more his size , but ultimately I just don't think it will happen for him & although he chases challenges I think it will in retrospect be a bad career move not to try 130 again...

Haney can certainly win. Size and youth are huge components and Loma did not look that good against Ortiz.

I just watched the British version of the fight between Loma and Ortiz, and I have to tell you, I actually believe that 117-111 score is not ridiculous. You could easily score the fight that way. I think 116-112 is fair to Ortiz's effort. But honestly, I have a whole new opinion of Loma now after watching that fight again with Jamal Herring and Christina Poncher commentating.

I mean, is it just me, or does Timothy Bradley appear to be a Lomachenko hater? The commentating from him and Herring are night and day.

The rounds Ortiz won were close, but the rounds Loma won were definitive. And after going back and watching that fight, Ortiz did a lot of shoe shining and holding and hitting. I'm surprised at how little he landed on Lomachenko. No wonder why Loma only had that abrasion on his face and no other mark. Loma looked worse after the Pedraza fight than he did here.

I also see things that Ortiz did to be successful that Devin won't do or hasn't shown that he can do it.

I hope Loma is the underdog because I'm going to be making myself some money.

James "Buster" Douglas cannot beat Mike Tyson.
Hasim Rahman cannot beat Lennox Lewis.
Corey Sanders cannot beat Wladimir Klitschko.
Leon Spinks cannot beat Muhammad Ali.
Frankie Randall cannot beat Julio Cesar Chavez.

Jesus I could go on but I won't. I have to agree with everyone else here that the statement "Haney can't win" is equal to "I don't know **** about boxing"

One other thing I noticed with Ortiz and why it seems people misjudged this fight. I noticed that when the clapper would sound signaling the 10 second mark, Ortiz would spring to life and start throwing. It caught Loma by surprise a couple times. I think this helped Ortiz steal a round that he shouldn't have won. You'd have Loma dominating the fight for the most part, and then Ortiz flurrying for 10 seconds. It's one of the oldest tricks in the book to steal a round that you would otherwise lose—or should lose.

I believe the judge that scored it 117-111 wasn't fooled by that tactic.

Everybody is busy talking about Loma but I think that Haney has grown as a fighter and a person. Not talking about weight (although he has grown there as well ) . I think that he is more mentally prepared for this fight. He is not intimidated or in awe of the fight or the moment. I saw that in and after the Kambozo fight. I think that he will or already has figured out how Loma moves. I think that he will adjust and outbox Loma.

He`s never been in the ring with someone like Loma and can`t effect him with power the way Lopez did.
