Not sure what to make of your post. Are you saying that the 1920’s and 30’s were completely void of big punchers and that Uzcudun’s chin was unproven ? And I also find your claim that “ Louis couldn’t take a punch “ a questionable one.

 

He wasn't bad, although I think Uzcudun was a bit better at the world level. Not a huge gap, but noticeable.

 

True, he was KO'd so many times in his career even BoxRec lost count.

 

Lol if you think Joe Louis had a good chin then I question your knowledge of boxing. Louis had a fragile chin and looked good because of the pitiful level of opponents his fought. You do realize the fighters he fought doing his title reign were referred to as the "Bum of the month club". Right? Louis pretty much avoided any "top" level black fighter he could doing that time. Elmer Ray won 45 bouts in the row doing Louis title reign and got avoided. What you try to justify that as well.

Anyway as I stated there is little footage of Paulino. So just because you name guys that you think were big punchers for that era doesn't mean Paulino was getting hit flush by these guys.

 

He wasn't knocked out many times little kid because of the opposition he faced. Based off that logic Anthony Joshua's chin is as good as George Foreman's because they both were knocked out 1 time. I bet you are the kind of person who says Tommy Morrison, Ken Norton, Lennox Lewis all had poor chins even though they were only knocked out 2 or 3 times and were stopped by better people than the people who knocked down and stopped Louis. Based off your logic Tyson Fury has one other greatest chins in heavyweight history because never stopped.

Louis was hurt and knocked down by guys who weren't hart punchers. Billy Conn hurt Louis badly, Tami Mauriello had Louis hurt, butter ball Tony Galento hard Louis hurt and knocked him down.

I think all that needs to be said is that Chuvalo was the Uzcudun of his era, and Uzcudun was the Chuvalo of his era.

 

I haven't seen a ton of Uzcudun but he looked more like a watered down version of Dempsey than a Chvalo-esque stylist. The Chuvalo comparison is apt when we are talking about chins, however. He crouched a lot but utilized a cross-armed defense. Good puncher with either hand. He had some nuance. I like his knockout over Wills. Sneaky right hand.

 

Guy calls a 71 yr old man "little kid". SMH.
