Usyk just did 712 against AJ, and has done 939 against Gassiev. What is the high end of what Fury thrown? If my counting was right, he did about 651 against Wallin, when he was fighting for his life. Some other Usyk punch stats for reference: Huck (over 10)- 758, 75.8 a round Glowacki (over 12)- 741 , 61.75 a round Mchunu (over 9)- 517, 57.4 a round Hunter (over 12)- 905, 75.4 a round Breidis (over 12)- 848, 70.6 a round Gassiev- (over 12)- 939, 78.24 a round Bellew (over 8)- 424, 53 a round Witherspoon (over 7)- 347, 49.6 a round Chisora (over 12) - 614, 51.2 a round
70 punches a round was Chisora 2. He threw about 850 against Chisora 1 if I recall correctly but unfortunately the Compubox website's fight stats has been down for a while. Also against Wallin, Fury was boxing in cruise control until 7-11, when he increased his volume substantially due to concern about the fight being stopped.
This got me curious, so to add a couple random data points he through 27/round in Wilder 1 and 47/round against Whyte through the first 5 rounds (not counting round 6 because it wasn't completed). I see a pattern where, if Fury views a guy as a threat (Klitschko, Wilder 1) he plays it safe and tries to win rounds by not getting hit and tapping with the jab. Usyk, on the other hand, his instinct is to try and out-hustle good opponents and smother them and play it safe against the weaker ones.
I've always thought a fast paced high volume punching fight would gas Fury out lugging that 245 R19 tire around his waist .Usyk is about the only heavyweight who can fight at a fast pace.
All the ones in his mind since Usyk first defeated AJ & destroyed his lower risk path to Undisputed, thereafter Usyk's second win & between that where he has retired & unretired back & fourth, acting erratic, constant tweeting accusing Usyk of Juicing, then going off at interviewer's for asking simple questions & now going back to fighting lower level comp, those punches are the most thrown so far, Oh but did you mean most punches thrown in a fight?? I'd have to think about that & get back to you...
