Thank you for beating me to it, Bivol has all the tools to beat Roy. For all his speed and reflexes Roy was fundamentally unsound at times but his reflexes allowed him to get away with it. Technically Bivol has a much better defense and his boxing ability is based on the solid fundamentals of boxing. Personally I think Roy is not that great at 175 compared to the legends at that weight, It always generates a smile when someone says,,nobody beats a prime Roy.

Well Roy did fail a drugs test for androstenedione. Interestingly enough so did “your guy” Toney for nandrolone. So at least those two were both cheats and on an even playing field.

Was not aware of the failed drugs tests like those of the British boxers who are cheats. Mind you even Canelo is scarred by Clenbuterol despite apparently there being a lot of beef being contaminated in Mexico. I hear the Reynoso have a butchers business. Personally because I love Canelo I want to give him the benefit of the doubt but its a negative mark on his record.

Jones 9-3 UD. Bivol doesn't have the physical tools or the power to really threaten Roy.

Jones/Beterbiev would be a tense fight.

Just please read what you have just wrote "past American greats who disappeared" those past greats may have vanished maybe because Thay were in the PAST not because the reds came. And by the what wins dose bivol have that come close to Roy's dominantions of Tony, Hopkins, Reggie Johnson and just for good measure Castro.

It's particularly hard to mentally match up two fighters with such unique styles. I will note that RJJ probably wasn't at his best at light heavy.

No, like I said Olu, Roy was always packing glass. He was knocked out in the amateurs by an Irishman named John Reid and it subsequently made him very puncher averse and this is why there is a complete dearth of genuine punchers on his CV throughout most of his prime years.

Toney was a weight drained cadaver and never fought at the weight again. He was also very slow compared to Roy and Pastor Dmity and the later would've boxed his ears of too only difference he would've done so to a healthy 100% version.

Sure Pastor Dmity and Beterbiev need to fight each other and hopefully we'll see that one very soon, but he doesn't need to fight Buatsi to prove himself. He's already proven himself and Buatsi is the one who needs to do all the proving at the world level. He's good but he, along with Yarde, Smith, Johnson, Richards, and Arthur, need to be taking part in a round robin tournament with each other instead of holding up the undisputed fight between Pastor Dmitry and King Arthur.

Roy did fail a drug test but it was swept under the carpet and he received a tap on the wrist for it. He had to pay a few hundred dollars fine IIRC

This one isn't difficult to predict at all. In fact, it's one of the easiest hypothetical match ups to predict I can think of. Pastor Dmitry puts Roy to sleep.

No problem. Agreed, Pastor Dmitry's speed of hand, foot, accuracy, reflexes, defence, and Soviet style are all wrong for Roy.

Even Roy himself acknowledges it would've been a very difficult fight for him and everyone knows Roy's ego is the size of the universe.

Roy was extremely hard to beat at LHW but definitely not unbeatable, especially not against certain legends. There's a number of guys at LHW you could favor over Roy. End of the day, he was a little LHW. I think Roy was the perfect specimen at SMW

    Back to the original topic:
Roy UD12, because I don't think he is gonna push for a ko and will just coast.

I think Roy UD12. No knock on Bivol, i just think Bivol gets outworked as Roy out speeds him. Its not a foregone conclusion because Bivol is obviously very good, but I just see this fight falling into a slow methodical pace where Roy is just one step ahead of Bivol. Honestly it would probably be boring.
