    1. Mike Tyson is not the hardest puncher (in competition with Foreman, Wladimir Klitschko, and Wilder)
    2. Mike Tyson certainly has the best combo (in competition with Foreman, Wladimir Klitschko, and Wilder)

Wilder is nowhere near the top four ever combo puncher. not even top 20.

    As a Mike Tyson fan:

    Wilder
    Tyson
    Foreman
    Wlad

Old time boxers remarked on how the difference between Foreman power and Tyson/shavers is like the difference between getting hit by a truck or a shotgun

    Fury on Wilders power:

“You dont even feel it, it doesnt even hurt… you just wake up on the floor wondering what happened”

Wilder hits with such force and velocity over a small area on the head that it snaps the neck violently and switches off your CNS. Literally an off switch. opponents just into deep sleep.

Its a combination of his long levers at his height, explosiveness, fast twitch muscles, velocity.. he has no bulk to slow him down like AJ, just stays flexible with just enough muscle tone to deliver athletic explosiveness.

All this talk about “world class opponents blah blah” doesnt have jack **** to do with the conversation.

the question is *hardest puncher* and an opponent doesnt need to be world class to have a good chin. Those two attributes arent even remotely related. Can have terrible boxers with better chins than world class boxers.

you go by the effect the punch had, and looking at Helenius, Stiverne, Breazeale KOs they were insane:

    Probably Wlad.

Ray Mercer and Phil Jackson said his punches were far more powerful than Lennox Lewis’. Chris Byrd said he hit 3x as hard as Vitali. His career KO record is close to the vaunted 80% mark while being a safety first, defensive minded fighter most of his career.

Foreman was an absolute powerhouse, every blow he threw, had a bludgeoning effect, almost effortlessly he would toss about raw power. I’ve seen many who fought Wlad remark on what a heavy puncher he was, he was frightening before his chin became a liability and Steward had to change his style. Wilder clearly has a quick twitchy and devastating right hand. Tyson hit hard but what he held over the others was being a better combination punching and he had a better ability to finish. He also seemed to have a knack for hitting guys on the temple. Larry Holmes once remarked that Tyson was not the heaviest puncher he faced. In fact Holmes claimed “the other guys” punched much harder, but that Mike Tyson was a sharper puncher. Holmes claimed Tyson knew exactly where to hit you and throw off your equilibrium.

    Here’s how I’d rank them

    1. Foreman - just raw power
    2. Wlad - absolute scary power but had to change his style and became much less aggressive.
    3. Tyson - best finisher, power in both hands like a shark that smelled blood in the water when he hurt you.
    4. Wilder - only has a right hand but it’s devastating! But his competition level is lacking, if he can flatline someone like USYK or some other top rated contenders or a former belt holder like Ruiz, who has shown a pretty strong chin he could still move up.

look all these guys can hit and knock you out, but they are all very different.

Not sure getting hit by a 214lb Tyson would be significantly different than a 212lb Tyson

Ha of course not! But the fact remains that anything you can call prime Tyson was over 212-he was only 212 once in his third fight when he was still 18! And he was a bit over 221 a couple times in his prime.
This was weighing in in just the shorts.
He averaged in the high 2-teens throughout his prime.

Mike Tyson himself admitted Foreman was a harder puncher than he was. A old Foreman actually fought two opponents a young Wladimir fought. Everette "Bigfoot" Martin and and Mark Young. Foreman fought these guys maybe 9 or 10 years before Wlad did. Foreman looks to be the harder one shot puncher and clearly much stronger than Wlad. Wilder has yet to knock out anybody who was known for their durability or who was considered a top level guy. Also most guys Wilder faces walks toward him. Most guys Foreman fought walked away from him. It is easier to knock out somebody who is coming forward compared to moving away from you.

I was never a massive fan of Mike Tyson but he did have a lot of power. I think where he excelled was his delivery system, he was a natural at bringing the power up from his feet. He had a near perfect peek a boo defence, duck down to avoid a punch, almost like coiling up a spring and then unleash on the way back up, usually with a devastating upper cut. Not a tall fighter but used this to his advantage.

Wondering a bit about some comments here - especially about mike tyson - since this question already was analyzed pretty good by the boxing world .

The boxing world agrees mike tyson indeed had an extraordinary punching force , the same is true about foreman , sonny liston and in nowadays wilder.

Vlad e.g is not named as

In terms of pure raw power from a single punch then it's the Wilder right hand for me.

Depends on what you mean by harder puncher because that can vary. If we're talking in general then Foreman is the hardest puncher here for sure based on both feats and testimony.

I would put Tyson second. Klitchsko should rank higher than Tyson based on size difference along with testimony for him although its hard to say with confidence because his level of competition wasn't quite what Tyson and Foreman dealt with. I'd rank Wilder as the weakest of the bunch because he's not fought anybody yet who has had a proven chin, other than Fury whom he couldn't knock out. The other 3 guys have feats to prove they can knockout people with iron chins.

    Foreman > Tyson > Klitchsko > Wilder

Many people who sparred Wlad and Wilder said Wilders power was on another level. Granted Wlad had a great left hook and Wilder didn’t have one at all, but if we’re talking about who hits harder with their best right hand it’s Wilder
