To be honest, it's the only fight of Joshua's I've watched multiple times. If you ever need cheering up, stick it on. Then you can follow it up with his throwing the belts out of the ring meltdown and speech. Hopefully we'll get to see his rap battle with Jarrell Miller for the triple whammy and Anthony Joshua's legacy will be complete.
Martin, Mina and Takam weren't top 10. Parker was ranked 3 at the time and Pulev 10th (although should of been higher in opinion).
You could probably have drummed up a rationale for Pulev to be higher than 10 but his two championship performances have been utter stinkers and in the second he literally ran away from Joshua. There is too much emphasis on "top 10" among the Joshua crowd, sometimes from the same people who complain about the lack of depth outside of the top handful. Only beating Fury, Usyk, Wilder or Joyce would be worthy or a marquee win. Marc de Mori was a top tenner not long ago with the WBA.
“I always think about that one punch. No one can beat me skill-for-skill, I don’t think. But it’s that one punch: I’d hate for that to be the reason why I lose. One punch. And that’s what they’re all looking at.” - Anthony Oluwafemi Olaseni Joshua This was from 2018. Getting sparked with one shot takes the bent officials out of the equation, which is why I presume AJ feared it so much. No bodyguard ref and filled out scorecards could save him. Who was/is the biggest and most prolific one-punch KO artist? Hmm...
Ruiz got up from a knockdown and hit AJ back and didn’t even get so much as a warning from the ref. It threw Joshua completely off his game.
Why would Wilder be worthy? There's many guys in the divsion with far superior records (AJ has already beaten half dozen guys with better records). I mean Wilder built his career beating De Mori types throughout his career.
I mean Whyte's punch resistance was clearly gone after he got caught for PEDS against Rivas and then when he got knocked out by Povetkin so I rate Joshua's win over Whyte higher than Fury's. I don't know why Fury's earlier win over an unbeaten Chisora is ignored though.
Parker (who lost to Whyte), Takam (who got KO'd by Chisora), Pulev (who lost to Chisora), Breazeale (who got battered for 12 rounds by Wallin), Povetkin (who lost to Whyte and Klitschko), Cornish (who lost to Sexton), Johnson (who has 20 losses to his name), Ruiz (who lost to Parker), Molina (who has been stopped 8 times), Martin (who lost to 700 pound Kownacki and 98 year old Luis Ortiz). Some resume that.....
The worst CV seen in boxing when one scans the list of puddings and old men served up to Joshua. Only fought one fighter of any note and beat badly twice.
Likewise, Joshua went life and death with an inactive Klitschko 18 months after Fury had won a comfortable decision against him.
Seems to be running out of time for Fast Car Eddie’s promised December fight. The only way to be sure if Eddie is lying is to check if his lips are moving.
