Yeah Cheema and Rea both lost. Good card, I like these domestic clashes. Fraser Clarke is up next against Sokolowski (only a 6 round fight for some reason), and then Smith Benjamin.

BT have another good British card next week with domestic clashes. Matchroom need more of those type of cards / fights, like for example Gorman Wardley is a great fight.

I like big Frazer - you can tell he's a proper boxing man and in a rush to get this professional career done while he can. You can see him going back to train amateurs afterwards or something like that.

He was on the Bunce podcast the other day commenting how amateur boxing should share some of the spoils from influencer boxing shows and to be honest it's hard to disagree with that.

 

Gave the first couple of fights a go and it's been a good watch so far. Fair play.

It looks to me like he wants a career in punditry.

 

How do you rate Jonas?

 

He's got that now.

I guess his point is that influencers are taking attention away from real career boxers who are doing it for the sport. Suppose it could be argued the other way, that attention on all boxing is welcome and it probably sends people to other shows / gyms etc, but that's the debate.

 

Why is Macklin pronouncing Frazer like Frasier - like the American sitcom? Is that the way it is to be pronounced?

 

I think that it's irrelevant. We live in a free-market, capitalist society. It's ludicrous to suggest that any money generated solely from influencers should filter into amateur boxing. I'd love to hear the criteria upon which such a proposal would be grounded.

I like big Frazer, likeable, and good on the mic, (as is Jonas, I've really warmed to her the last couple of years), but I just don't see him at top level. British/Commonwealth/European level, (and there's nothing wrong with that btw), but nothing I'm seeing of him says world champion material.
