Probably a good idea for Oleksandr Usyk to not vacate the IBF title and fight Filip Hrgovic. After all, Fury is unstable and keeps on retiring, setting unrealistic deadlines and backing out of fights, so there is no guarantee he will fight Usyk next year.

If Usyk vacates, it will be Hrgovic vs the highest ranked heavyweight available for the title.

Andy Ruiz Jr is the IBF highest ranked heavyweight after Hrgovic. The next highest are Joshua, Wilder and Bakole, all of whom would make for interesting fights with Hrgovic.

If Usyk can’t get Fury I have no complaints, since Hrgovic will finally get a titleshot and likely to make the most of the opportunity.

It should be a good fight.

A little bit of a trap fight for Usyk because Hrgo has a lot of assets but I'm not sure Usyk will get up for this fight like he did vs AJ.

I think Hrgovics awkwardness would cause Usyk more problems. But he guts it out at the end. 115-113 Usyk in a very dramatic and competitive fight.

Usyk will beat Hrgovic sleeping, and I mean that literally. If Usyk is a somnambulist, he will beat Hrgovic while taking a nap.

Sucks as this is a distraction from the big fight. Oleksandr the Great hasn't got too many left in him.

The IBF wouldn’t have called their mandatory if Usyk didn’t duck the December undisputed fight.

Now Usyk will be tied up fighting Hrgovic in spring next year, and the WBC will call Fury’s next mandatory which he’ll have to face before next April.

Fury vs Usyk now likely won’t happen until this time next year.

    Thanks Usyk.

Hrgovic has to work on some things and then everything is possible...

Hrgovic will be better for having faced Zhang, I think.

Right now, I'd give Usyk the edge. But Oleksandr's game is built around attributes that will leave sooner rather than later as a boxer ages. Usyk hasn't taken an immense amount of punishment in the ring, but he's been training as a boxer for 20 years now. That's not an easy life.

Usyk absolutely stops slow, clunky and low-talented Hrgovic before round 7. Very easy fight for Usyk. Easy fight and small paycheck.

So here's where the politics come in.
The Croatian has some pact with Matchroom and the German clowns so these manager and promotional parasites will together try to undermine the Fury-Usyk fight for their own interests. Hearn wants to undermine Fury now more than ever too.
They will also pressure Usyk's team which could impact his ability to make the fight with Fury.
Then if they're successful in undermining the unification, watch as Hearn claims Fury ducked Usyk.

You should thank fat drug cheat fury who is a certified duck for Usyk fight not happening , but since fury is a bipolar coward I don’t expect much from him.
