Can any heavyweight from history realistically beat Tyson Fury?

Fury has never fought a complete boxer punch with power in both hands, a stinging jab, and the ability to parry. Louis is a way better fighter on both offense and defense and had defeated men Fury's size so size would not be a problem.

Byrd would make Fury look stupid.

I rate Fury highly for several reasons. But he was dropped by light hitting cruiserweight Steve Cunningham who is far smaller than Fury. He can be beaten by smaller men.

Yes. I can’t believe how overrated Fury is on this forum. It’s ridiculous. In my opinion he was gifted a win in his 8th pro fight against McDermott. Referee scored it not judges. 3 objectives judges would have ruled that a fury loss 100 times out of 100.

Don't agree here!!! Give me your opinion of his skill set, strong and weak points.
He would have been destroyed by some of the historical big boys, massively out boxed by some of the lighter but more nimble fighters. He is a good fighter not a great one, he is an average boxer but will never be a good one.

Average? He schooled Klitschko demolished Wilder and dominated every other opponent he faced.

So? Fury got one dodgy decision at the beginning of his career and so he’s therefore not great? Every fighter has had a bad decision here and there. And that fight meant absolutely nothing. It wasn’t for a belt or anything so who cares?

Bryd wasn’t even a proper champion. He was rubbish. For some reason hardcores seem to think any random alphabet titleist that no one has heard of is good just because causals don’t know who he is. As for small, slow, shuffling Joe Louis. He wouldn’t even be a contender in the modern game. His old style wouldn’t do him any good whatsoever. Stop spewing nonsense and accept up to the facts.

They are not historical greats are they really! Wilder is current and so are a few of the others on his not so special resume! In my opinion, Foreman would have hurt him badly, Lennox Lewis simply out boxed him, Ali just danced around him and taught him to box, and Frazier probably ended his career.

Byrd wasn't rubbish, he was slick and embarrassed guys like Tua, Hoylfield, and Vitali. His resume is arguably better than Fury's

The clash of styles would be ugly. Fury would get frustrated trying to land his pawing jab on a slippery technician who never stays still. It would be like a bear trying to swipe at a squirrel. Byrd would outland him 2-3 punches to 1 and make him look stupid.

Louis wasn't slow, he was one of the fastest combination punchers in history. Louis would still drill Fury with body shots and outjab him whenever he stepped forward. He'd certainly do better than mediocre cruiserweight boxers like Cunningham who managed to drop Fury.

Louis will get beaten to a pulp by any decent/good HW from the past 30 years.
He only looked good against the bum jokes from his weak era.

Call his skills mediocre if you must, but you think he's physically weak? Take how he looks out of it. Watch how he manhandles the hell out of everyone he fights. He's clearly as strong as an ox in a clinch. Just a guess, probably a beast at arm wrestling as well.
