Yeh, I kind of envisage him just sitting on a couch somewhere playing video games, or just watching 'one more episode' of Battlestar Galactica.
Maybe. I don't think he that old school. Oh a wait a minute are you talking about the re-boot? Whatever he is doing his boxing career is no a fast track to no where. He's might end up and old man saying " I could have been a contender. "
With a month's notice, it won't be anybody good. Too bad someone who needs a fight like Ajagba, Wallin, Martin, Demirezen, Washington, Zhang, or Hunter won't step up. This content is protected
Murat Gassiev Arslanbek Makhmudov Evgeny Romanov Artem Suslenkov Andrey Mangushev Arslan Iallyev Abdulkerim Edilov Maxim Babanin Apti Davtaev Vladimir Ivanov Shigabudin Aliev Mark Petrovsky (now, in the future, who knows) Alexander Dorofeev Georgy Yunovidov Basir Abakarov Vitaly Kudukhov
@Mendoza It’s great stuff(just gonna pretend I never read #5). Is there any reason you don’t have Richard Torrez? Or you just forgot? And I think you should cool off a little with Hrgovic. Usyk will make rather easy work of him if they face next.
He just missed the cut, Fraizer Clake and a few others edge him out for the top 15 heavyweight prospects. I wasn't going to 20 prospects. If I did he barely make it. Torres is my opinion has not done enough yet to rate and If / When he does will find the size of the opposition and list is LOADED talent and size that will create many match up problems. This isn't your grandpa's, father's or even older brother's heavyweight division! Given his style he will need to be extra strong in the chin and power department. He is marketable, but that is just the way I see it and don't just him extra strong in the power or chin department.
I'd have it 1 Gassiev 2 Makhmudov 3 Petrovsky 4 Romanov 5 Ivanov 6 Abkarov 7 Babanin 8 Suslenkov 9 Edilov 10 Aliev 11 Yunividov 12 Illayev 13 Davtaev 14 Mangushev 15 Dorofeev 16 Kudukhov
A friend of mine down in Virginia said he heard Jerry Forrest do a podcast interview indicating that nobody has sent him or his people a contract for a December 10th fight with Jared Anderson. And, as of right now, this fight isn't showing up on boxrec.
Torrez Jr has yet to fight a fighter who he can't just let his hands go against from the opening bell. I think the first useful boxer-puncher he finds at HW will blow him to bits as he tries to close the distance. The best outcome for Torrez Jr involves Bridgerweight actually becoming a "viable" division. He could be competitive with guys like Rivas Jr, Jennings (assuming Bryant ever fights again), Babic, etc.
You should strike Davtaev from that list. He's been exposed. He fought a lot of garbage up until they matched him against Mulowayi and we saw how that turned out. Yunovidov seems to lack some power. Romanov is very good, but a bit undersized and the clock is ticking for him. He's probably not going to get a serious look at HW and he needs Bridgerweight to deliver for him.
I think Dychko's last fight (which saw him go the full 10 round distance with a nobody) was a deliberate change in strategy. Specifically: If you're not getting fights by being a wolf in wolf's clothing - try pretending to be a sheep in wolf's clothing. There's recent precedent for that strategy proving effective. For example - Tyson Fury's 10 round "exhibition match" with Franceso Pianeta de-escalated his threat level enough for Di Bella/Wilder to bite.
A useful cruiserweight fight (and how often do we get to say that recently?) is scheduled for December 2nd in Florida when undefeated cruisweight prospects Brandon Glanton (17-0-0) and David Light (19-0-0) will battle in a 10 round fight that will provide the Main Event for the card.
