    That was excellent footage ! and so was the sound. Hard to get better than that from that long ago. Carnera would fit right in , in todays heavyweight division

    Yes that’s just what I think too. The sound really helps. And the speed of the film brings the whole thing to life.

    I think the problem for him was shifting enough weight the proper way through his limbs in time to catch someone. Everyone else was quicker and smaller and the only way he could operate was by compromising technique to land upon quicker and smaller opponents.

    But he looks a good athlete by todays standards. And he’s not that slow either!

    Right! he may be quicker than Joe Joyce, or as least as fast. Also good call on him shifting his weight. I don't think he was a great puncher due to his technique but he was obviously heavy handed.

    The noise of the blows landing shows that the impact really was legit and sufficient enough. Especially when the gloves were smaller and he’s against a guy he can hit more often than he is getting hit back. The ref made a good call after quite a slow count.
