Hearn overpaid in the early days of DAZN causing everyone else to overpay to some degree. His shows were better but it ruined the fighters hunger and they realised that they could live comfortably fighting once a year against limited opposition. Marvin Hagler once said it’s not easy getting up at 3am when you’re wearing silk pyjamas and a lot of boxers, who weren’t fit to hold the great man’s jockstrap, started wearing them too. Sadly (or sensibly) the DAZN purse strings have tightened and we now get poor shows both home and abroad.
Hearn was doing this long before 'The Zone'. You're right though, these puddings expect massive paydays and are millionaires because of people like fast Eddie. Just don't buy the pay per views and fund these sham fights and it will go away. Unfortunately it seems the horse has been bolted on that one and people do still seem to pay.
Why? Sky also tried to buy the rights to misfits. Any network would do what’s right for their viewers and business
DAZN need subs to be able to grow and get other sports. Boxing isn't working for them here but the youtube stuff might and is probably alot cheaper per sub
Last nights Misfits full card replay has disappeared a few hours ago. Clicked on full fight replay of the main event and it goes to an interview with the winner and not the fight (giving away the result). DAZN is a amateur and complete garbage compared to Sky
Someone said it earlier and it's right...why couldn't these YTers of picked wrestling or mma instead of boxing. Unless there was a guiding hand of course!
I didn’t say it was the problem. I said this generates more eyeballs than the wilder fight. Boxing needs to do everything it can to stop this happening by making big fights and fights that are accessible. No problem with Wilder vs Ruiz on PPV. But neither guy has been built properly since the losses
One thing you can't deny these youtube lads/lasses. They shout about a fight, make the fight, promote the fight and then fight. It's a formula actual boxing could adopt
I just wonder what Sauerland Snr makes of the whole thing. Watching his sons taking a big steaming dump on the business that he created and handed over to them, while Kalle’s dressed like the uncle your parents wouldn’t let you be alone with.
