While obviously the evidence is only anecdotal, it sure looks like mandibular fragility runs in the Rahman family, and it appears to get worse as it goes through the family line: This content is protected
and unlike his father he's lacking in testicular fortitude. Sr had some exciting back and forth brawls, a few that he won.
Yeah, clearly the old man is light years better, but at the level which each competed at, it is clear that inability to take a solid punch is a flaw in their game. No question Senior had other attributes that made up for this; hence his (much) better showing against better fighters.
Rahman Jr has the IQ of an egg. He could've made way more money with Jake Paul win or lose just by honoring the contracted weight that he agreed to.
Thanks for embarrassing the sport, Hasim. Can somebody please make these lazy heirs think twice about putting on gloves, or at least about embarking on professional careers?
Who's the fat guy being yelled at corner side by Shannon Briggs? Had to boxrec him and he only had 1 fight prior vs a debut boxer. Extremely embarrassing by Rahman Jr, could of made millions losing to Jake Paul and build profile instead of losing to a fat bum like this.
I know this sounds crazy but, it's almost as if... no wait, let me check my notes. Yup, it's almost as if... size... matters? And getting punched by a pro fighter that outweighs you by almost 100lbs is probably going to make your equilibrium do funny things. Chin checkers are proof that glass brains exist.
Is it because of a glass chin, or because his opponent is strong like an oax? Hardy looks twice the size and weight than Rahman Jr. Doesn't look a fair fight to me.
Finally some common sense in the thread! Whilst I'm not a Rahman jr fan all this talk of embarrassing the sport and glass mandible is so immature but I guess that's what this site has become known for now! People making comments fail to acknowledge the 100 pound weight advantage as if it had no influence on the outcome. I guarantee that all these internet tough guys/ boxing gurus couldnt take a punch from a man their own weight let alone someone with a 100 pound advantage
This has more to do with how wretched, overrated, useless and ineffective the sport of boxing is compared to other combat sports than it does with glass chins The final nail in the coffin for me was the Triller Triad Combat event where they pitted a bunch of boxers vs MMA fighters fighting under what was essentially boxing rules and the MMA fighters not only won the event but the margin of victory would've been even wider had two of their fighters not been robbed. In virtually every match up the MMA fighters had better hands than the actual boxers did and we saw that demonstrated again last night when Greg Hardy took Hasim Rahmn Jr. to slick school.
People talk like it's a big advantage to weigh in at 320 lbs. Fact is both are heavyweights, one should have at least a bit experience and the other one is a novice. If Rahman actually had a bit of skill, he would have taken Hardy's lights out without too much issues. I am confident any 199+ lbs skilled boxer would have taken him to school or stopped him. To summarize, Rahman is not very good and it's embarrassing he lost to a novice who took the fight on a few days' notice.
Hardy lost his last three UFC fights via KO or stoppage and he stepped in at late notice, like five days before fight night, against Rahman Jr.. Sure he's a lot heavier than Rahman Jr. but he outboxed the boxer for goodness sake. Fact is he had better hands than the actual boxer and the superior skill level was on display even when he scored the KD If you want to lean how defend yourself you'd be better off signing up for knitting lessons than going down to your local boxing gym
