Confirmed price. I think this could be a big error of judgement from Team Fury. Out of principle I'm not paying to watch him box again. Would have happily paid £26.95 to watch him vs Usyk or Joyce. I hate Chisora but would be hilarious if he ironed Tyson out.
I thought Frank Warren was "for the fans". Of course, it's the broadcaster who decides the PPV price. I don't see it affecting the buys too much compared to if it were £23.95 or £19.99 because the type of people who end up paying would probably pay for any price anyway.
I suppose the boxer indirectly decides based on his demand. Can't wait till Fury retires. Horrible ****
Was Usyk Joshua higher than £26.95 ? I remember when I was about 10 the PPVs were no more than £12. For Ruiz Joshua 2 they raised raised the price from £19.99 and now it keeps going up.
Absolutely crazy decision to make it that price they have completely misjudged this. No one wants this fight whatsoever. Be surprised if get over 50 thousand buys
Imagine a lot will have been bought by Companies who will try resale on at a higher price but will be lucky to sell at face value. Must just be me but I don't think fury is as popular as he or Warren thinks and this is a awful fight.
PPV's were 12 quid, then Matchroom/Sky started doing them at 15, 20, 25 and now 27. BT are just following suit.
Yeah they were £15 until about a decade ago, certainly during the Warren/Hatton/Haye eras of the mid-late 2000s. Think they went up to £20 once Matchroom started getting involved, maybe Froch v Groves 1 or 2, then up to £25 with AJ. As long as they keep selling, and there’s enough people online to justify it with ‘It’d be $80 in America’, they’ll keep going up. @DramaShow makes a good point though. Chances are if you were happy and willing to pay £20 for this, you’ll pay £27.
I would **** myself if Chisora ended up winning somehow. It would serve Fury right for trying to cash in on such an easy fight that no one wants to see
Be dead funny if Elon Musk out of the blue tweets about this fight - haters would just go 'crazy'. Edward would be pacing up down his office saying how daaaaarrrreeeeeee Warren think he can surpass me, I'm TBE - lol. Joshua would be like, well I'm still a nobody in America - lol (Looking left and right, checking the coast is clear)
I literally, cannot emphasise just how much I want this to tank, massively. It's a terrible fight, slightly excusable (and only slightly) as warm up fight, shake off some rust, prior to an Usyk or at least a Joshua fight. Inexcusable, is 1, having this as a PPV on an already expensive channel, and 2, pricing it so high, particularly in the face of the worst cost of living crisis in 100 years.
