He fought last year after a 3 year layoff and ended up leaving the ring on a stretcher. He suffered bad brain damage which ultimately took his life. Rest in power champ.

I note three back to back KO losses albeit over a 3 and a half year period and losing 5 fights of the last 6 he fought, is not what we want to witness of ex champions, but the lure of the sport is strong. Sad news like this reminds us that boxing can be a tough old game Rest in peace champ.
