An interesting match up with both fighters just falling short of the top boys but certainly British bragging rights on the line here .
Unfortunately, Eubank probably wins again. He just keeps coming and unless people can KO him, which seems very difficult, you have to be a very good boxer like Saunders or Groves to win on points. And Groves also warded him off with power to a degree, and was bigger. If Groves can't put Eubank down properly I don't see how Liam Smith is going to do anything to him. So then what is he going to do, out grind him? With less power? Without more endurance? And Eubank will have the judges on his side anyway. Even Liam Williams was supposed to have more power and skill than Smith but that didn't help him. Liam Smith probably takes a beating, I guess. Hopefully he somehow pulls off a temple shot or massive cut or something.
Eubank is a stunning talent, and is overflowing with Charisma. The combination of which will be too much for a dolt like Smith.
Brilliant fight this. Lots of interesting questions based on the styles of each fighter. It all comes down to if the intelligent effective pressure and educated fundamentals of Smith can manage to bridge the gap of the faster footwork and more unorthodox style of Eubank. I don't see Eubank getting much success with single shots due to Smiths high guard defence but it's going to be hard for Smith to corner him and get off two's and three's. Although Eubanks Jr is the naturally bigger man so perhaps that will be a big factor in how this goes? If Eubank is forced to engage we could have a potential fight of the year contender in a total 50/50 fight.
Smith is a very talented fighter but is coming towards the end of his career and facing a bigger opponent. You have to give the edge here to Eubank Jr, but its an intrigueing fight. If Smith can stay in it up to the mid rounds then I can definitely see Eubank Jr being put under pressure.
