I who often talk to you about the countless low blows received by Pacquiao in his career, today I'm going to tell you about a boost he received.

Referee Carlos Padilla has admitted to having voluntarily made a long count during Pacquiao's fight against Australian Nedal Hussein (19-0) in 2000. He was told that a victory for the local boxer was crucial for the rest of the events .

Of course Pacquiao gets up in ten seconds and based on the referee's count, it's impossible to say if he would have lost without this help.

The KD is notably present in Pacquiao's farewell video:

Fighting for too long hurt Pac. Losing to Mayweather etc. Can't blame him for the money

I don't see how. He kept adding to his legacy right up until the end. How many guys beat undefeated titleholders after entering their fifth decade of life? Losing to Mayweather is no shame, it was hardly a whitewash.

He can say what he wants, a 'long count' makes no odds whatosever when a fighter is looking up at you watching you count.

Its nonsense, he's obviously just said it for a bit of attention.

He got up very early in the count there. He would've made it through for certain, there was no difference if the ref counted slowly or not.

It should be declared an NC and Hussein should recieve a payout. Anyone who disagrees is a spineless fanboy.

For the last time, a referee's 10 count doesn't mean 10 seconds, but from when the referee counts to 10.

Yes but a longer count gives you extra time to recover. Pac was still hurt after so I’m pretty sure he benefited from those extra seconds.
