Prograis gets hit a lot when he's being cute.

Have you heard of Oedipus? The man fated to kill his father and marry his mother?

Yokasta (Jocasta usually in English) was his mother (the one he banged).

Sophocles wrote a classic set of plays which concerns the life of Oedipus and his family.

Am i the only one thinking prograis stayed too long outboxing zepeda? I think he could’ve stop him earlier. But, its still a really good performance shutting down zepeda

Teo has a better chance of fighting Zapeda before he steps in the ring with Prograis. Prograis mauls him and his team knows it. Look for Teo to complain about Prograis “disrespecting” him or some lame excuse to duck the fight. Great showing by Prograis last night. A little rust in the first couple rounds but when he found his range and rhythm he showed he’s still world class.

I’d love to see him fight the winner of the Taylor fight or Teo. Prograis might have trouble getting big fights because he’s too dangerous. He’s a legit threat to anyone at 140.

Chon needn't lose heart, he can take notes from this and conceivably return for one more tilt.

Come back stronger, soldier. It's not over.

I just watched Evelin Nazarena Bermudez vs Yokasta Valle. I scored it 6-4 for Bermudez.

Adalaide Byrd scored it 99-91 for Valle! She was at it again!

Although Prograis fought a fantastic fight, I also felt he could have applied more pressure earlier at times. Zepeda still packs some pop, so caution seemed sensible. Prograis was in control & I guess his team was happy not to risk it & stick to the game plan

Can't nitpick, it was a controlled performance from Prograis, responsible but not overly leery, and he turned the screw in the championship rounds.

I've always really liked Zepeda dating back to before his bout with Turbo Flanagan, and I trust he has another run in him.

A kudos to each for giving us a fight we were all keen to see.

No nitpicking from me, just an observation & maybe something for Prograis to work on, sometimes he can be outworked. Both guys are a credit to the sport & conducted themselves as true professionals

Though I'd noted your comments, I was speaking to myself more than anyone else. I felt a pang of agreement that he could've done more with the control he established in the middle of the fight, but then offset those thoughts with the reasoning that he'd worn down and finished Zepeda at an exactly seasonable pace. Still, if the fight had been a bit more up in the air in those middle stages, that seasonable pacing could've translated to excess (possibly costly) patience.

I do agree with you in past fights he does take a break during rounds, but I feel he established his ring generalship pretty quick against Zepeda and was quick on the counter every time.

Agreed, Prograis was in control & there was no need to deviate from the game plan in this fight
