    Sugar Ray Robinson vs:

    Marvin Hagler
    Thomas Hearns
    Robertu Duran
    Sugar Ray Leonard

    ---------------------------------
The Welterweight prime Robinson vs Hearns, Duran, & Leonard,
and then the middleweight Robinson vs Hagler (since Hagler only fought middleweight)

    How does he do?

I think he could have beaten ALL of them. Ironically I would give Thomas Hearns the best chance at beating him due to his combination of height, power, rangy fighting style and ability to be effective at any weight class.

    Good reasoning.

Of the other three I think Hagler could beat him at middleweight, I don't think Leonard or Duran could do it at welter. Possibly Duran.

Much as I love Tommy Hearns, I see him suffering a sudden, powerful ko loss, against the Sugar man.

Ray wins all the mentioned fights at welterweight but gets edged out at 160lbs by Hagler. Maybe a split one.

He beats all of them , the biggest challenge would be prime Leonard at welterweight, after the Duran loss. Leonard became a better fighter after the loss to Duran.
That version was the 2nd best welterweight in history.
But in a 3 fight prime vs prime match-up Robinson wins two. All 3 would go to a decision.
Robinson wouldn't get pulled into a street fight with Duran as Leonard did he'd pull off a hard fought Decision win against Montreal Duran.
He'd beat Hearns faster though he may get put on his ass, because he'd be more aggressive initially than Leonard.
He'd make Hagler hesitant and keep him guessing, in and out with his speed and countering ability, also, he'd hit a lot harder at the weight than Leonard was capable of, that would make Hagler even more hesitant.

SRR beats the first 3, it's 50:50 against the rest

He goes thru Duran and Hearns and outpoints them pretty easily .. Hearns gets KOd late rounds, as in , he aint making it 15 with SRR no way in hell
Leonard had heart, a chin, and was strong .... this goes 15 with SRR UD at 147
He loses to Hagler, at 160 this is Marvs weight , his division ... Hagler gets in and bangs outpoints SRR

This is how it plays out for me also, Robinson is all kinds of wrong for Hearns.

I think Robinson beats every one of them.

I’ll go with a three-fight series for each:

Robinson vs. Hearns: Ray tries to outbox Tommy in the first fight and nobody ever outboxed Hearns so Hitman by decision. Ray adjusts in the next two and goes to war, the second being something of a Hagler-Hearns and the third being more of a methodically tree-chopping as Robinson wins II and III by KO.

Robinson vs. Duran: Three decisions for Robinson with a chance for a late stoppage in one.

Robinson vs. Leonard: I think Leonard takes two out of three. Equally versatile, equally fast, equally explosive and I think the latter Sugar Ray finds a way to outfox or outfight the original sweet once twice. All three are very competitive decisions decided by a few rounds.

Robinson vs. Hagler: Marvin tended to fight more conservatively and even tentatively in big fights. These are all big fights. Ray outpoints him three times.

This is comical ,actually , as SRR would have Tommy working twice as hard as he did vs Leonard ... Tommy was able to establish the distance and get Leonard with jabs and the right .. Straight line fighter .. SRR is a completely different fight here .. with fast footwork , lateral movement , left hand power , Hearns wouldn't be able to settle in ,,, in a straight line against SRR , a SRR is the far superior footwork fighter here... Tommy works twice as hard and gasses faster against SRR than he did against Leonard..

Nobody ever outboxed Thomas Hearns. Could it be done? Possibly. But Leonard tried and failed (forcing a shift in tactics) and Benitez — an absolute pure boxer — couldn’t even do it with Hearns one-handed due to a broken hand. The power behind that boxing skill would make any sane fighter cautious.

I figure he could do it once in three times with Robinson. I still think Robinson is the P4P greatest but nobody is invincible.

Your observations on Hagler being a bit tentative could carry some weight against Robo, plus his defeat at the hands of a once retired Leonard has to play its part when analysing this bout , even if you scored for Hagler ( lots did ) it still doesn't put Hagler in a good light , I would imagine a close fight, with the Sugar man outpointing the Marvellous one, for what it's worth , the only MW I would give an even change over Ray in his prime ( as a MW ) circa 1951/52 would be Greb, particularly the fighter that brutalised Tunney in their first fight, Monzon would be a bit one paced I feel, and would expect him to also lose by points , but who knows ?
    stay safe guys.
