I've been aware of him for ages but I've only seen a lit bit of him in action. But he looks decent in those videos I posted and, as I said, much heavier handed than his KO% suggests which might have a lot to do with him packing on the weight to campaign at HW. Dubois has a really powerful pistonlike jab which might cause Lerena issues trying to get in close where he needs to be. But if he can get past the jab and in close I can see him causing Dubois problems with his hand speed, combinations and power.
He looks too heavy at 233, almost unrecognizable from how he looked up at CW Level, but he still looks effective, fast and dangerous at that weight
Not sure what yo think. On the surface DuBois is the better fighter and will be the heavy favorite. Not sure what it does for him career wise.
Martin Bakole, who has been out in South Africa sparring Lerena to help him prepare for Dubois, is picking Lerena to beat Dubois. Bakole has also sparred Dubois so his opinion holds some weight. He says Lerena has good speed and movement, can take a shot, and has a big heart and that he thinks it will be similar to Usyk vs AJ II. Tumestamped This content is protected
Dubois demolishes him. The KO will occur in round 6, and that's the best case scenario for Lerena. If Dubois is on a good day, he finishes him off in round 4.
I think Dubois' natural size and power will be the decisive factor but Lerena can really fight and if Dubois wasn't one of the most devastating punchers in the division I wouldn't feel confident of his chances here because Lerena is the more skilled better fighter of the two judging from what I've seen on tape.
Dubois says he's lost weight and will be faster and more skillful for this fight. That's a good idea This content is protected
Looking forward to this.... Will be great to have a prominent heavyweight boxer from South Africa with a belt.... It has been ages .. Corry Sanders was the last... RIP
