Heavyweight gold, HW champ, oldest HW champ, Drubbed Frazier twice, Norton, Qawi, Cooney

Solid stats there. Also, the grillmaster.

He also only made three defenses and wasn't the best guy at any point. Besides the fact that he lost about half of the title fights he was in.

I voted Wlad out. I've said this before, but I have all the respect in the world for him, he was a darn good boxer with excellent skills and was a good, clean-living sportsman. But I cannot call him an ATG, with all the desperate grabbing - that is the exact opposite of how I picture the HW champ to conduct himself.

Just as an aside - I always thought Foreman gets ranked a bit too highly in these polls, probably because I'm not impressed with things like being the oldest to win this, or the youngest to do that - these kinds of things hold weight with lots of folks, and for good reason. I don't think much of Foreman's competition in his 2nd career, apart from Holyfield, against whom he gave a courageous & excellent effort. I don't think Moorer was very good, I always saw him as very basic and unimaginative and not very smart. Standing there in front of a murderous puncher & letting him throw 2 slooooow as molasses one-twos in a row, is not very bright.

Holmes- his best win, Norton, is Ali's fourth or fifth. Both of his best wins, Norton and Witherspoon, were either-either way affairs. He openly ducked fighters and bragged about it, contributed to title proliferation by accepting the IBF belt, never unified, and struggled with inferior fighters like Snipes and Weaver. Lost to a LHW.

Maybe Holyfield because of Evan Fields. He did the most powerful PED before there was testing, and he would not have bene nearly as great as he was without it.

    Wlad's competition was abominable.

    Any of these three.

Foreman has arguably the greatest accomplishment in Heavyweight Championship history… and was an ATG prior to that.

Wlad or Tyson probably get my vote, with Holyfield third.

What was Marciano's historic relevance? Being the first and last white champ for a while? He held the belt for a few years, fought a couple old, small guys who were hanging on by their last tooth and a couple white dope bums and that was it. That's historic?

Johnson defended against no one of note but a retired ex-champ who walked off his alfalfa farm from retirement. Obviously he was extremely important in a societal context, but in actual results? Please.

Definitely Holmes or Holyfield, both are VERY undeserving champions in my book.

I can understand your feelings, the guy was pretty amazing. However, I will say this. Foreman beat very few top notch fighters and he was a very poor heavyweight champion. When you are talking about top ten all time, those kinds of details matter. It is the reason he isn't in my top ten.

People kicking Wlad out??? 12 year reign and beat the guys at the time, it was just a poorer era, but maybe some of those guys would have done better if Wlad wasn't so dominant

    I'd say Frazier

Wlad for me even though he had longevity and multiple belts throughout his career, the others on the list all prime for prime beat him imo .
