    Simple debate.

    My opinion:
Yes, Worst of all time due to his attitude, lack of respect for other fighters, arrogance and general prickishness. He was also a severe braggart. To be fair, these are qualities shared by the majority of boxers, however, Holmes took it to a whole new level.

Also his staunch opinion that he would have beaten Tyson if his hand had not gotten caught in the ropes. Gee... I wonder, Larry, perhaps your arm was in the ropes in the first place because you were out on your feet?

That being said, what is your opinion?

James J Braddock was worse. He was worse because a) he was worse b) he staged 0 successful title defences c) he was worse.

What even is your criteria? Jack Johnson was a pimp, Liston a leg breaker, Ali an outspoken racist in a UFO worshipping murder cult… Larry Holmes is grouchy? I don’t think there’s anything unsavoury attached to Holmes name he seems like one of the most normal people to be a real HW champion I can think of.

Boxers are generally unsavory characters, we all get that. I don't exclude Holmes from that list.

But they generally dont run on the tops of cars to attempt a flying leg kick.

I know he is one of the best fighters, not taking that away from him. Just how he carried himself in and out of the ring is what I don't like.

I have Holmes at #4 and I think he'd have a decent chance of taking on Louis and Ali as well. He is far far from the worst. In fact you'd have to be ignorant about boxing to think Holmes sucked. Whether his character was 'nice' or not sounds like some pinko-lefty-woke argument to redefine the sport of boxing into something else entirely.
