Joshua-Wilder could be surprising dull if the latter can't set up his right hand. I can see AJ simply L-guarding/leverage guarding the cross and jabbing with his hand in checking position/with his head off the center line. That and his motorbike at 50 mph. Then again when the fireworks start it's on and I feel like the clash of characters is more appealing than even the stylistic juxtaposition.
I don’t believe Wilder has any intention of fighting Joshua. He’s taken on one serious opponent in a 14 year career in Fury, because he thought he was finished.
He then fought him another twice after finding out close up he was the best in the division. British level Joshua an irrelevance in the division and only won vacated route titles.
His ego couldn’t accept the defeat. Joshua is nothing special, but Wilder was the definition of a protected paper titleist.
Joshua quit by spitting his gumshield out, turning his back on the referee, ignoring instructions and laying back on the ropes after being knocked down FOUR TIMES over 7 rounds! After a 4th KD in 7 you're on very thin ice, you have to show the referee that you want to continue and the ref clearly saw that Joshua didn't want to. With the 3rd KD at the start of the 7th after a terrible 6th round Joshua had given up and was looking for a way out, he went down very easily a few seconds later because he had nothing left. Going back out would have just got him dropped and beaten up more, so he quit. The doctor in the first Ortiz fight was corrupt in giving Wilder an extra 20 seconds, no doubt. But let's not pretend that Joshua didn't benefit from questionable stoppages against Wlad and Takam, a bodyguard referee and corrupt cornerman against Parker, a big ring against an untrained Ruiz and controversial cards in most of his bigger fights. Wilder and Joshua both benefited greatly from home/A-side/champion advantage.
