Lerena beat Dmytro Kucher in 2018, which is very good name. I think Lerena looked good in the last couple of fights and he is southpaw. Could we see Lerena taking Dubois to school?
DuBois isn't a great mover. I think Lerena can get him turned around and pot shot him almost at will. DuBois is certainly a harder hitter though. Lerena looks fairly dangerous for a stepped-up cruiserweight - but he's not quite David Haye and so I need to give DuBois the nod here.
Dubois looked vastly improved against Trevor Bryan. Technically i mean. He looked way sharper and more technical with his jab and punches in general. He looked super robotic against Joyce for example and more like a natural boxer against Bryan, more fluid. I liked that performance. He's still super green and Lerena comes to fight and won't lay down after the first punch. He took some clean bombs from Wach and didn't even blink. I expect Dubois to use his superior size, power, speed and athleticism early on but if he can't get Lerena out of there inside 5-6 rounds this could be very, very interesting in the second half when Dubois slows and Lerena keeps coming and throwing bombs. The southpaw stance of Lerena could also be a factor. I don't think Dubois has ever faced a southpaw since turning pro. Lerena also also has good head movement, footwork and counter punching. He's quick for a big guy and carries his weight well despite being a former Cruiserweight and not the tallest or biggest Heavweight.
I don't rate Dubois very highly but I don't think Lerena is the guy to expose his deficiencies again. I hope Lerena gives us a good fight and doesn't get walked through like I suspect.
