Maidana put up a much better fight whilst Pacquiao was relatively straight forward .

    Both beat Mayweather.

But one did so with one arm.

Maidana won 5 rounds first time round
Manny barley laid a glove on him

Only half wit manny fanboys believe he came close to winning. At least a case can be made for Marcos

If you set aside your irrational hate for Pac and actually watch the fight, you'd see that Pac countered the hell out of Floyd, was tit for tat for punches landed, and of course, landed the most significant punches of the fight stunning Floyd twice and ripping him with hard shots against the ropes.

Pac was also the aggressor the whole fight and bloodied Floyd's mouth while Floyd clinched and spoiled excessively at one point diving at Pac's waist when Pac just got close and wasn't even punching.

It was a tremendous disappointment versus the hype and was an absolute stinker, but that doesn't change the fact that Pac hit him with power shots while Floyd scraped by with glancing jabs. You can't not credit Pac for his performance because he didn't meet the expectations of being hyper aggressive because Floyd was in survival mode.

Maidana easily he roughed up Mayweather, hit him with the most punches he's ever been hit with according to Punchstats. And some people believe he won the fight, i certainly think he won 5 rounds and has a strong case for a draw.

Pacquiao had one good round from memory, and lost in the region of 9-3, 8-4.

So for me its pretty obvious.

Maidana won five rounds and Pacquiao just four. But Pac was 36 and Maidana 30.

Good post, but with Manny his punch output dropped very low after round 4 due to his shoulder so we will never know what he was even capable of even at that age,

With Maidana he came with all he had plus the ability to surprise Floyd as well as being younger, Maidana was really expected to be laid down by most Boxing heads,

I have seen people highlight Golokvins impressive defensive ability in the third fight with Canelo fight even though he got hit with more power punches but forget to mention Pacquiao's great defense as Floyd wasn't able to hurt, stun or daze him hard even once in the whole fight, not so bad for the little injured guy,

For the CompuBox highlighters Floyd landed the most lowest percent of punches on Pacquiao that night,

There's a reason he never went ahead with ever granting Pac a rematch as freely as he did with his other opponents.

You fail to mention that both men threw a similar amount of punches, but it was Mayweather who landed 34 percent of his punches to Pacquiao's 19 percent.

Also the injury is irrelevant to this discusion, because thats all ifs buts and maybes. The question was who gave Mayweather his toughest fight, and clearly it was Maidana who landed 200+ punches to Pacquiao's 80+ punches.

Manny was far too tentative after Floyd nailed him early with an uppercut.
