It's even more hilarious than that. He claimed he needed surgery because he hurt his hand during the fight against Chisora. Now, how on Earth does he know he needs surgery? He is not a doctor, nor did he talk to one, nor did they have an X-ray taken of his hand. But he already knew he had to have surgery which would put him out of action for 6-8 weeks. How convenient - he won't be ready to face Usyk in February/March. Colour me shocked. It's mind-boggling there are still Fury fanatics who defend his actions and claim it's not blatant ducking what he is doing.

Absolute rubbish. The Joshua fight was originally scheduled for 21st July and a possible undisputed against Fury for December. It was always the plan that Usyk would have 5 months between defending his belts twice (that's something Fury has never done, btw - two title fights in the span of less than half a year). But since the Joshua rematch was postponed by a month to late August, the proposed undisputed fight had to be postponed as well. But January was out of the question, purely for financial reasons. You can't have a big PPV fight in January when people are all skint due to the holidays - any event manager can tell you that staging a big sporting event or a concert for January is the worst idea ever from a financial point of view. So the fight was eventually pushed to February. That's it - no conspiracies, no shady business. The postponed Joshua fight set these things in motion, it's as simple as that. Fury and his team knew all about this, but Fury still decided to duck Usyk. It was clear that he would claim he couldn't fight Usyk in February/March after the Chisora fight. I've been telling this for weeks that this would be Fury's screenplay. Having a light sparring session against a 39-year-old plodder whom he already beat twice, then finding an excuse after the Chisora fight not to face Usyk in February/March. The way Fury is managing his career is rather predictable once you see through all the nonsense he keeps talking. Saudi was paying step aside, and this money didn't come from neither Fury or Usyk check. Usyk agree, Fury team agree, but it was Fury, who said he wants to have a warm up. Then once again another warm up with Chisora ... Maybe for real Dubois is going to be the next warm up, and until Usyk becomes 39 years old or suddenly lost to someone else, while defending his title against top opposition. What i have said like 3-4 months ago, happen exactly as i stated. Fury will find a way to duck the match, and he won't fight in February/March.
Legacy: only 6 title fights, one against a battle-worn Klitschko pushing forty, three against the same flat-footed one-trick pony with terrible boxing skills, one against an uppercut magnet plodder with a suspect chin and one against a 39-year-old, 12-losses plodder whom he already beat twice. Even Frank Bruno had 5 title fights against far more difficult opponents (Tyson, McCall, Lewis). Fury's legacy is paper thin.
