What does Tyson Fury have to do to become a top 10 ATG?

Well if he fights Usyk first and wins and in the meantime Joshua fights 1-2 fights against decent competition it would still be a huge fight and Joshua does have a good resume. I think over time the win would be viewed as favorable. While I don’t think Joshua has the fortitude to make a great comeback like Wlad did in his career or Holyfield with his performance in Tyson. He would have the chance to have a second act. It makes it a good fight for Fury.

A god fight for sure, and one I want more than other fights.
But Joshuas aura is gone, in ten years time, if we miss out on that fight but Fury beats Usyk, Fury will still be considered a great.

Fighting someone with a pulse would be a start.

45yo George... Come on. George was an Olympic heavyweight gold medalist 24 years earlier. At 45yo you dont even p*ss as fast.

    Bakole isn’t a bum.

Also, one loss isn’t a big deal, since many past great fighters have faced defeat before.

He won't fight them if there are any.

    Beat usyk, joyce and AJ.

Those 3 have established themselves as the top 3 in the division who isn't named fury so let's go.

Beating 1 of them won't do it he needs them all

I'd say he's already borderline top 10. An argument can certainly be made.

If he beats AJ and Usyk you can argue him wherever you want imo.

Beating a well past his prime W. Klitschko and twice battering a very powerful but fundamentally poor Wilder is not enough to get him in the top ten all-time. While a fighter, such as Holmes or fury cannot control the quality of the era in which he fights he can beat the best that are out there and Holmes had a lot of defenses doing that. Fury needs to clean up the division and I don't mean all the undefeated wannabes, there are too many of them. He does need to beat the people who have achieved something. Topping three of the following, Joshua, Ruiz, Joyce and, of course, Usyk, would be a great resume booster. As far as whom I would take off of your list to make room for the Gypsy King, I would go with Holyfield.

The thing is, Marciano is listed as an ATG, but how does his resume look compared to Fury s?

Good question. Made me do research. Marciano went 10-0 against gentleman who were in the Ring top ten at the beginning of the year in which he beat them. The last quarter of his career was full of quality guys. However, much like the younger guys don't think much of non-ATGs like Lyle, Quarry, Tucker and Ruddock, most of us, even the older guys (like me) don't know or think much of guys like Phil Muscato and Don Cockell but they were the Lyles and Ruddocks of Marciano's era and The Rock beat them.

Marciano's resume, while not great wasn't actually that bad.

It isn't that bad, he beat the guys he had to to get his shot.
It's the being champ that most people fault Fury I suppose, but Rock s challengers come in for a lot of stick to.
Maybe in ten years or so, Fury will be seen as top 5 in the ATG list, mate.

If Fury is rated top 5 for beating a 40 year old, Chisora, and Wilder the UK will need a special operation

It's simply not possible regardless of what he does.

His huge size advantage is ridiculous
