Estrada called out Inoue, and a guy said it would be the best name Inoue has beat in his mind, so I am curious as to the forum's opinion.

    No.

Estrada would add name value to Inoue's resume since he's pretty much a lock for the HOF. In terms of actual threat as an opponent, no. Estrada would be punished and destroyed. The poll I made of this match up has 28 votes for Inoue KO, 3 votes for decision, and 0 votes for Estrada.

At this point Inoue is probably at least a 10 to 1 favorite against everybody else at 118 and below.

As i said to you before it would be the best win on Inoue's resume, and it would improve his resume by quite a significant margin.

As another poster pointed out Inoue will be favourite against pretty much every fighter he fights, it doesn't mean a win over Estrada won't significantly improve his standing who is a big name.

A title matchup against either Estrada or Gonzalez at 115 a few years back when all 3 were in the same division would have been huge for the sport and for Inoue”s resume and star credibility. That time has passed now. Inoue has been fight at 118 for a few years now and while Estrada and Gonzalez are still amongst the best at 115, Estrada is now 32 and Gonzales 35 with both having gathered a lot of wear and tear physically since Inoue moved up in weight.

Please explain how Estrada would enhance his resume by a significant margin. The guy almost lost to a no name tune-up before he finally was able to clearly beat a small and even older Chocolatito.

If chose Estrada over MJ, Figueroa or Fulton (is he moving up? If not, him) it'd go down.

I already think Inoue is the best fighter in the world so my opinion can't get much higher

As i keep telling you name a better fighter on Inoue's record apart from an old Donaire, that is more highly regarded than Estrada and theres your answer. You keep saying Estrada struggled against this guy and that guy, yet hes still considered the number 1 man at 115 so there you have it.

I don't understand how you don't think a convincing win over a big name like Estrada, wouldn't be a great notch on Inoue's resume.

For me, it would be a good addition to his resume. It just wouldn't elevate my opinion of Inoue because I believe he would win and have no doubt that he wouldn't.

Thats fair enough but as you rightly pointed out earlier, Inoue would be the favourite against pretty much any fighter he fought. Hes like RJJ in his prime where people see him as a special talent, but he needs a few more household/big names on his record to elevate him to ATG status. Estrada for me would be Inoues best win on his resume so far, and a convincing win over Estrada would do wonders for his resume IMO.

Wow, I didn't check the rating update. I wouldn't mind them making it happen, Inoue could use some guys rated pfp in his career.

Estrada might be past his best but many whinge about the likes of Haney not being ranked in the top 1o even though he doesn't deserve it and they'll include him at the expense of Estrada even though he was a way better resume than Haney and it's not remotely close. Estrada is top 10 on merit.
