I can’t think of any that come close. He’s made a living off his surname (then kicked his old man under the bus). A living equating to millions and millions of pounds. For a domestic level fighter! Fact is he’s yet to win the Commonwealth title after 12 years as a pro, 34 years old next year, and talks with an arrogance that he only needs to be 50-60% to beat world class Brits! And still he gets the coverage and the pay days and the attention he craves. Even winning some fans for eating KFC. I can’t think of a bigger fake. I personally feel the humble and improving Harlem Eubank will achieve more in the end than this brat, he sticks to one coach and dedicates to learning his craft in silence.
Not sure about fraud but do think his career has been wasted a bit! Don't think his dad really helped should've had his own trainer from the start felt like snr was more a hindrance than help
Understand your point but he lives the life and works hard, I respect that. In some ways it's admirable as they chose the hardest sport.
Yep. He’s had it easy because of his surname. He’d be nowhere without his father. And now his father is nowhere, where’s Jr (for him)? We are talking out and out brat, greedy pig. Despicable.
No, was a big fan of him in his earlier days before he paired up with ITV and starting conning the public with their PPV fights with Quinlan and Abraham I knew this guy wasn't serious. And the same thing happened against after a good win against Degale....that was your chance to get the fight with Andrade/Charlo but no.
Come on he has operated at world level. He has a win over DeGale which is a decent win even though he was over the hill. He can actually fight and turns up in shape. When I think of fraud. I think of the likes of Campbell Soup Hatton who punches like a girl and cannot even beat up beginner journey men level fighters.
Does anyone on this forum actually like boxing or any boxers? This week alone Eubank, warrington, fury,AJ,Chisora,Bellew,Haye,Froch etc all bums/frauds/paper champions etc. Eubank has certainly had help due to his name but do you think he turned 21 and put on some gloves for a laugh and was simply given money?! He’s certainly not elite but he is world level. Not the worst achievement is it. EDIT-Bellew is a class a cnut
Anyone in the same situation would do the same thing as him (look at Conor Benn & Campbell Hatton) - you use any foot up you can get in this tough old game. Not quite sure on the relevance of the Commonwealth title..... he's won the British title and as far as myself and I'd say most are concerned, that's a title that's held in FAR higher regard. I do agree he should have achieved more than he currently has because he is talented, can fight and clearly lives the life - I do think there will be a number of what if's when it's all said and done. Albeit, will he even care because he's earned good money either way. Win or lose has been involved in a lot of good fights against "domestic" names across all levels.... Blackwell, Spike, BJS, Groves, Degale, Williams and now Liam Smith......... then you can - at a push - throw some international names in there as well - Abraham, Yildirim and dare I say it Korobov. I'm looking forward to this Liam Smith fight, I do think it has the makings of a cracking scrap. If he does win that then given the stage of his career he's at now, it can only be big, meaningful or money fights going forward.
Traditionally - British, Commonwealth, European. Then you’re usually rated #1 with WBC. Traditionally.
I hear what you're saying but the British is title is more "prestigious" and held in higher regard than the CW title.
