You Welcome. I have been on this site since July 2019, I have seen this fantasy fight over and over, posters seem to fall for it, then it causes dissention, everyone begins to call each other naughty names that they would not say to that person in public. And guess what? The author must be sitting at home chuckling as we begin to battle each other for the sake of our ego's being crushed. Is that very mature? We then become Keyboard Warriors, insulting the very friends on this site that we like to share posts with. Do yourself a favor, next time you see this rather repetitive thread, stay far away from it, take the ball and run, never look back. I myself will do the same. This thread is like a bad penny that keeps coming back like the Flu.

Yes, cause the poster I replied to implied that Tyson would not be able to land on Ali, which is ludicrous.

The point about Chuvalo supports the idea that Ali was hard to hit.

That's like saying Henry Cooper floored Ali and had him hurt badly so Tyson would dominate him.

    This is a tossup IMO.

I believe the first half of the fight would be a rough go for Ali. I don't like Ali's style I'm this matchup. Remember Tyson whatever his weakness brought a combination of speed and power even Ali never saw.
Ali hands low, pulling back, fast as hell but Mike would be alot quicker than most sluggers coming in. Ali also gave ground, moved back quite often which in my view give Tyson forward momentum and confidence.

I think Tyson does some damage to Ali early. Maybe knocks him down, rattles him a few times. Ali would have to dig deep, figure Mike out on the fly. He probably does get through it.

I could see Ali weathering the storm and staging a rally late in the fight.

    12 rds Tyson UD
15 rds could go either way.

No it doesn't. Chuvalo was a slow and limited boxer skill wise.

Again with the dumb myths. Tyson would have no problem dealing with Ali's talking.

You are being ridiculous, we are talking about a top ranked boxer here, not some internet buffoon or something.

The fact that it took a top fighter 13 rounds to land a single solid shot is proof of Ali's elusiveness, saying otherwise just shows how much you dislike the man.

Tyson wins, provided Ali's religious sect doesn't play a factor in the outcome. Ali didn't have the punch to hold him off, he can't run forever, and Tyson is not Henry Cooper.

No offense but I feel like this is brought up every other month. In lighter news, I was hype to finally reenact this match up multiple times on FNR4. Hopefully more to come in future boxing games that r also good.

Muhammad Ali of course, Tyson never beat any hall of famers, Holmes way past , Spinks petrified! Baddest man on the planet never beat Holyfield, or Lewis, or Bowe, or Moorer, or Witherspoon or Foreman , or Morrison,
He sure got knocked out alot and for the ten count, or quit on his stool against a guy not in top 500!
Ali's whole career record is against either hall of famers , World Champions or top ten rated contenders, and its better than Tyson's.

Ali was 32-5 w/ 20 Ko's against World Ring Magazine Champs and contenders lists, and it was 32-3!

Well, to be more serious, aside from my remedial attempt to replicate the quality of Ali’s poetry, I literally do favour Ali.

On paper, it is actually Ali who has exactly the right stuff to beat Mike. Tyson’s best and most crucial window would be, say, the first 4 - 5 rounds. Ali’s window is the WHOLE fight.

Ali would be acutely aware of Mike’s skill set and power. Very misleading to take the Ali of the first Cooper fight and plonk him in there against Tyson. Ali was goofing and fighting to prediction.

No games with Mike. Look at how Ali fought Liston. Perfectly respectful of Liston’s abilities and power. IMO, really one of Ali’s best performances. So it would go with Tyson.

While the fight might present some pivotal moments where some degree of doubt might exist as to which way it could go, as per their performances in their ACTUAL careers, Ali deserves the benefit of that doubt FAR more than Tyson.

Ali has the skills to beat Tyson in the first instance but he also has the safety nets of a great chin, recuperative powers and ABSOLUTE will to win - attributes he can rely on as and when necessary.

I see Ali warp speeding it for the first 4-5 rounds, progressively establishing his jab and then mixing his shots given reasonable opportunities.

I seriously see Ali’s dominance increasing exponentially after the mid way point of the fight - Muhammad ultimately boxing/battering Mike to a standstill with a later round TKO/KO very much on the radar.

“No one be irate, because I pick Muhammad late.
    Believe me I’m not fool’n’, when I predict for Mike a school’n’!”

Actually, I really do think I have a gift for rhyme.

Pug, Don't fall for this lame rerun of a thread that some other created to get a big laugh of all of you. Right this minute he is falling over laughing as you fellas are on the verge of naughty name calling, becoming Keyboard Warriors, you are much too intelligent than to get tangled in the author of this thread's late late show rerun. All I have to say is Buster Douglas replicated Muhammad Ali's style on Tyson, and what happened. Tyson lost his prime at age 24, Ha Ha . I think I will stick to the lounge, their threads or material is always something different.
