Who's The Worst Possible Match Up, For Vitali Klitschko?

Liston wouldn’t know what to do against a guy that size with skill.

Ali, Lewis and Tyson would be the toughest matchups

 

It's a generic answer, but my first thought was Ali. Someone with the mobility of Byrd who hit harder and wasn't ever knocked out in his career and loved beating up bigger guys.

 

Ali, Liston, Joe Bugner, Fury, Holmes would all present various challenges for Vitali. They can all outjab him and take him out of his comfort zone, which is to simply lean back and spam straight punches down the middle. Bugner in particular would be a hilarious opponent since he'd make Vitali initiate offense maming him look very awkward. Ali and Holmes are simply too smart and quick. Fury removes all paths to victory with his superior ring IQ and durability (eliminating the chances of Vitali winning on points or stoppage). Fury would definitely get in his head too. Liston's glacial approach, with a ramrod jab and bombs from either hand, disrupts a lot fo Vitali's game plan.

His own brother Wladmir might be a horrible matchup too. Everyone always points to Wladmir's chin, but Wladmir hit harder than his brother and was much better on the outside. Unless Vitali can impose his will and land a lot of shots, he's going to have nightmares.

And that person would be, who? Not bad criteia!

 

Considering the gulf in weight, reach, and skill between that version of Lewis and 70s Foreman, it’s not likely. Lyle gave Foreman the same kind of fight and wasn’t in Vitali’s class.

Lewis because he's proved it.

Ali because I've not seen Vitali against a speedster with footwork.

Wlad because of his thunderous power and boxing ability.

After those guys it gets a bit thin. Maybe Holmes would be a handful.

 

The One who can more surprise him while hes handling a fight. Some exceptional combo fighter like Holyfield or Usyk imo. He suffered some unexpected quick combos by Corrie Sanders for a part of the fight.
