Haven't seen it mentioned on here but seems Marshall was on Soccer AM this morning saying she's "activated the rematch clause" and looking at summer in St James's Park. Surely it'll just be a repeat with a bigger payoff? A big crowd won't bother Shields at all.
If by bigger pay off you mean KO then you`re insane, Shields might have won their clash but she didn`t hurt Marshall once, the fight was closer than People say and though Shields clearly won she was mainly defensive and countering I feel Marshall can do better in a rematch and am still not sold on Shields, just my opinion.
Pointless. St James Park might have done good numbers the first time around but not after how one sided the first one was and the novelty of the fight wearing off.
I disagree - it was one-sided from start to finish, regardless of the styles and tactics; the fact Marshall was on her feet is neither here nor there - she had no answer. Shields clearly figured out how to fight Marshall and I've no doubt she'll figure out a different way if needed. If Sky and Boxxer can fleece the public into believing a rematch will be any different and the fighters get well paid, good luck to all of them.
100% this. A total mismatch. One sided beat down from start to finish. Shields is in a totally different class to Marshall and exposed her as such.
It was closer when Marshall turned it into a dog fight after Shields tired after about 4 rounds. It was Shields doubling up her attacks Marshall couldn't work out originally, kept coming off worse in the pocket to Marshalls hand speed. To be fair everyone said the same after Fury Wilder 2 and the 3rd fight turned out to be probably the best.
The Wilder v Fury 3 fight probably the best Heavyweight fight in the history of boxing. Had everything - both down, both showing great heart and both willing to fight until one could no longer stand.
some fools ^ talking like it was a calzaghe- lacy type domination. It simply wasn't so don't lie. Marshall hurt Shields numerous times, had her backing up all night, and certainly won rounds. It was a cracking fight with a great atmosphere. If Shields won as as easy as you're claiming then the crowd would have been silent.
