@kirk my 2 cents on all of your proposed changes. I'm kind of against them all, until we see how many players will be joining up on 2022. Don't need to spread everything too thin, if there aren't too many players. How about let me do another one of my recruitment drives and take it from there? Or not. When things get too complicated and cluttered, most people zone out and lose interest. I fact I wouldn't mind dropping all of the in game competitions like WBK either. Although clearly people like it, so I wouldn't.

The changes were primarily for updating purposes. Makes it easier for people to update if it's split, and to hunt down mistakes. As of right now, it can be daunting for updaters, and for implementing systems to delegate it.

Splitting it in half makes it that much easier of a process and less likely to burn updaters out.

I do agree that too much clutter is annoying. Though I think it's possible that doing it the new way can actually lead to more streamlined experience and less clutter in some respects. Reason being is, all the other stuff (wbk, peoples championship, tournament stuff, ect) can stay in this main thread, while a persons divisional competition thread will have just schedule, updates, and predictions.

But I do appreciate the feedback and it is definitely noted. I will chew on it all and see what happens. Nothing is for sure right now, and worst case scenario I try it for a few weeks and see how it feels, then get feedback from you guys at that point, and if we want to go back to one thread then we do.

I think everything will work itself out organically. They're all already getting the hang of it. The main issue was probably coming in late, with most already having mammoth records to keep track of and sort out, that it was all a bit overwhelming to start with. But with the beginning of the year, and everyone start out with a blank slate, even with multiple players, it's going to be much easier for them to manage. Basically what I'm saying is, they're already adjusting, so no need to make it more complicated. In the words of Axl Rose... "said "woman take it slow, and it'll work itself out fine" All we need is just a little patience."

 

This is a good point. Will be starting fresh, and with experience on how to do it.

Though I would say, doing it the new way would be less complicated for the updaters, not more. It would be the same as now, but with less users, less posts to sift through, and no sharing of duties between updaters.

Still though, I think you might have convinced me. Starting fresh with 0-0 records and going from there, and they will be more experienced by then, I guess we will see how it goes.

But if it gets conveyed to me that at any point its too much for them, I'll probably split it into two divisions.

or another option would be to have a cap on how many fights we count for a week. Say, if we capped it at 7 fights a week or something. Idk, just an alternative thought.

But we will see... for now I will leave it.

 

So a change for the new year is going to be for the Peoples Championships....

When you are the peoples champion, your predictions will be put in that thread, and anyone can challenge you.
