How is it that he’s always breaking his right hand and his power remains unaffected. It’s especially strange because he’s always in the gym hitting heavy bags and pads at 100%, even soon after hand injuries. There’s plenty of examples of boxers putting a halt in their training or becoming pillow fist because of hand problems, but this doesn’t seem to apply to Widler at all. Anyone find it strange how quick he recovers and unaffected he is by hand injuries?
Depends on the type of break. A minor stress fracture won't take as long to heal. A severe break at the knuckle is a diffrent story.
It's not that uncommon for guys to break their hands and retain power. Mayweather had damaged hands for years but still had his power until he went up in weight. Gatti kept his power among many other examples.
Because it doesn't psychologically affect him. While some become cautious, he doesn't. Plus, he doesn't throw a lot of punches and especially right hands that land.
Every time he breaks it he gets to put more metal rods and bits in his hand to punch harder.. Google that.
I don’t know the details of his injuries, but with how hard he punches and how often they happened I just imagined they were pretty bad.
I wonder how all his power going through his bones when he punches with those metal parts in his hands doesn't break apart? Like Ronnie Coleman. He kept on lifting weights after he had screws inserted into his spine even though the doctor suggested to him not to and they all broke and now he is a cripple.
Not really, he said that he was not hitting heavy bag before Fury second fight and reason was his injury.
I think its mental. In fact its kinda one of the signs I 'believed' Wilder earlier on in his career, in terms of how serious he was in the ring and how far he was willing to go. Normal people dont continue to punch hard with the type of injuries he punches through.
Possibly. If it were a severe break, no way he's punching full force or at all until it's healed up. I don't think it would ever heal or heal correctly if he did that.
Well aside form the Fury fight he has faced some really weak and old opposition. As such the true end of his power is tough to gauge. In boxing chins go down hill with age too. Don't get me wrong, he is a puncher.
Other people have more facets of their game they can rely on. When a right hand is all you have then where do you go?
