Can you imagine Ray Mercer in against Foreman (1973)? This is a guy with a solid chin against one of the biggest hitters in the Heavyweight division. And what about Ray that turned up against Lennox Lewis in there? 15 rounds.
I imagine that it would be an extremely crowd pleasing fight. All I can say is that Foreman best get Ray out of there if he can. The later this goes the more of a problem it becomes for George.
Slugfest, very entertaining. Ray staggers and nearly floors Foreman but gets pulverized in the end, taking far too many terrifying shots. The ref stops the defiant yet clobbered and swollen Mercer from getting seriously hurt in 5. Foreman looks thankful.
Foreman should win this, but then again I think Mercer would have also stopped Lyle, so this could get interesting.
Brutal, Foreman is going to win but take a beating and Mercer is going to probably have to have his corner throw in the towel. Mercer is a live dog because Foreman could tire himself out beating up Mercer and then be too tired for the late Mercer assault. Good fight.
Excellent brawl! Could be similar to Foreman-Lyle, actually. Mercer's chin could see him through this. I don't think Foreman lands the combinations someone like Lennox landed but if he lands enough in succession I don't think Mercer would last. Foreman should win this in a steel cage type slugfest!!
If Foreman doesn't get him out of there we could see a Tommy Morrison scenario. Although I think Foreman would hang on for longer than Tommy and I fancy him over Mercer.
Would be a crazy fight imo. Mercer not wanting to go anywhere and George wanting him planted in to the floor!
Foreman gassing out and losing to Young This content is protected Foreman gassing out and losing to Ali This content is protected While I favour Foreman, that scenario has happened twice already to him.
Mercer’s chin vs Foreman’s power… …I’d take the latter to crack the former and do a lot of damage in the process. Foreman W TKO 7
