Thanks to wins against Dillian Whyte at Wembley Stadium and Derek Chisora at Spurs Stadium - of course defending his WBC heavyweight title in 2022.

    Non-Fight Moment Of The Year:-
Went to Anthony Joshua with his post fight press conference cry.

Well deserved, as heavyweights take priority, and he is the top dog in Britain although Joyce will disagree with that. The Wembley and Tottenham spectacles were incredible. Only Fury can draw those sorts of crowds.

You reckon Joyce can sell out stadiums? He's gathered quite the support over the last two years.

I doubt it. People think he's boring although I find him more interesting than most. I wonder what would happen if he could beat Fury, Joshua r or Wilder. I give him less chance against Usyk.

And just to balance things out as always, BBC Sport's equivalent online poll has these choices (in order as seen on the page):

    Natasha Jonas
    Chantelle Cameron
    Tyson Fury
    Sunny Edwards

No one in British boxing has had a particularly outstanding year. Personally I think Joyce’s two wins this year are more impressive than Fury’s when you compare the two relatively. Sunny Edwards has also probably had a better two wins than Fury this year relatively speaking.

But since no British boxer has been outstanding this year and I’m not sure whether any champions have had more than two fights this year, it’s no surprise they’ve given it to Fury albeit for beating two of the easiest opponents he could have ever faced stylistically.

If a fighter wins two fights that pretty much everybody thought were forgone conclusions the second they were announced you'd like to think that they aren't the fighter of the year, unless they've put on an incredible show of skill and technical ability. Plenty of fighters in lower weights that could and should have got this but I don't think we're ever going to be able to avoid the Heavyweight division usurping everything else, which is a shame.

Although I really enjoyed the show, Barry Jones pissing himself at Froch talking about himself in the third person was a highight, I didn't agree with them naming Fury.

From those I think I'd go for Jonas. I know there's not much depth in the women's division, but to come back after having a child is a big achievement. If not her then Sunny Edwards who deserves more credit and exposure than he gets. He's a seriously talented boxer.

A fine reward for dragging the sport through the mud this month.

Fury wrote himself out of the reckoning when he fought Chisora. A **** take of a fight for a HW champion.

Ok, not an option on the BBC list but Ryder then.

Sunny has been trying to fight the best in the division and putting on a display of very good boxing skills while doing it.

Very poor year for British Boxing

Fury gets the nod by default
