(PRIME) Rocky Marciano vs. (PRIME) Joe Frazier

What do you guys think?

I wish I could choose a winner for this match but I’ve never been able to.

- Both could go fifteen rounds
- Both had a lot of power
- Both had fast hands
- Both had a ton of heart
- Both were well conditioned in their prime
- Both were close in size ( Joe a little bigger)
- Both could take a good punch
- Frazier had the better left hook but Rocky had the better two fisted attack
- Both had great upper body movement and the ability to slip the jab

I think this goes right down to the wire and I wouldn’t be surprised to see either man win.

 

Probably a top matchup ever u can make…Marciano knocks him out late rounds.

 

Frazier lacked left to right hand coordination. Joe was all left hook. Marciano was in fact the far greater fighter.

Marciano by TKO in eight rounds.

A solid case can be made for either man.
Frazier was faster and bigger,and more proven against bigger guys.
Marciano had two fisted power,which Frazier lacked although George Benton was brought in to give him a right hand late in his career,it was never a hard punch.
Frazier lumped up, Marciano cut,both were attrition punchers.
I go for Rocky solely because he had two fisted power, but it's a fight that could go either way imo.

 

I personally plump for Marciano. Think he had more stamina and a better chin. Frazier a better left hook

 

I am quite confident that Frazier would take this.
Both fighters are fairly similar, but I think Frazier does everything Rocky can do a little bit better while being a better/stronger/heavier athlete.

 

I ts close but I like Joe.

 

We’ll take Marciano make him more resistant to cuts give him 20 more solid pounds 1 inch in height and 5 in reach then top it off by making him quicker. All else is same. So now who do you pick?

On the inside, Rocky has the advantages in power and maybe in chin, but Joe with his superior speed and greater defenses makes this a call it fight.
Vicious battle and if the fight was stopped, then i believe it would be because Rocky was subject to cutting, and Joe was not, atleast not as bad as the rock.
If i have to pick i would go with Smokin joe by TKO on cuts.
But i would never write rocky off.

 

Marciano was a two fisted banger Frazier relied heavily on one punch his left hook,so no ,all else is not the same.

 

When two swarmers fight each other with power, go with the one who has the better chin. In this case I favor Rocky. In is an interesting match up.
