I didn't even know he had made a comeback, he was shot at 39 when he fought Cotto. It's crazy to think at 47 he's even being talked about for a title shot. I hope it doesn't happen, Martinez has literally fought nobodies to earn this ranking, his last opponent was 6-6-2! Golovkin even this faded old version destroys him. That's not something I want to see.
Golovkin will take that fight. Decent money, very winnable, and believe it or it will be a nice little legacy boosting fight. Sergio the former champ, while washed up us still a good name to have. Very similar to how Jones adds to Calzaghe's legacy. People will see it is a mismatch now (which it is), but time will be kind to that win if it happens.
