Expect big things from Hrgovic in 2023, he will beat anyone who steps in the ring with him, mark my words...
He has a lot of doubters after his last performance and I don't think that will change until he shows us something to change peoples minds. Right now he would clearly be a big underdog against the likes of Fury, Usyk, Joyce and even the now damaged Joshua. Anyone else I think he has a chance with, Wilder he could beat though I could see Wilder blowing him away too. Andy Ruiz is a 50/50 type of fight, Whyte I think he could beat. I'd like to see him rematch Zhang but that doesn't look like it will happen. Maybe a fight with Parker would be good, a win over Parker especially if he stops him faster than Joyce could maybe convince people he's again legit and the Zhang fight was just a poor night.
He stated immediately after the fight that he wanted a rematch with Zhang, probably because of the critics, he wanted to prove that he could beat him convincingly, that would be the fairest thing for both of them and Zhang would certainly agree to a rematch...
I honestly thought Zhang would knock Hrgovic out, I predicted it quite a few times. His stock rose for me. But most people think Zhang is some random old man journeyman who just happened to give Hrg a hard fight and not one of the biggest guys in the division with 2 world and 1 olympic medals Hrgovic can box on the backfoot and has a ridiculously good chin. If he stops being so open on offense, the world is his. After he got panicked, Zhang could read his punches really well and time him. He needs to keep feinting and mixing it up even under pressure.
I Agree, believe me before the fight I had a strange feeling and I knew that Zhang would be a tougher opponent than people expected, he is extremely big and fast considering his weight, Hrgovic stayed on his feet due to his good chin, Zhang would knock out most fighters cold, I even believe he would knock out Joshua...
He is on to the IBF title and might take a stay busy match. Someone mentioned Babic. That would be acceptable as a tune up match. Ruiz if he wins will be a fine IBF title match. And he'll beat him. Aside form a questionable knock down Hrgoivc on an off night outboxed Zhang. And to be honest Zhang is better than Chisora and White are now.
If Hrgovic had anything about him he would give Zhang an immediate rematch. Apart from Hrgovic getting lucky on the the cards he was made to look terrible, surely he would want to put it right and show it was only an off night before commencing with the rest of his career .
