The amount of people bothered by PPV numbers is insane you would think the money is going in their pocket not them live vicariously through Hearn or whoever

It isn't that at all. Ppv has always proved who the biggest stars are. Fact. You cant keep spouting off about gate attendances when that isnt the No.1 metric for success for Boxing in terms of numbers.

So by your logic Muhammed Ali was not the biggest star nor were Eubank or Benn when watched by millions of people on ITV.

Give yourself a shake and make that doctor's appointment for your PPV fetish illness before it destroys you.

I'm not a Fury fanboy and was really pissed off when he fought Chisora.

However as far a PPVs go, there is no way Joshua v Chisora does anywhere near 500k on DAZN

Why do people get so defensive and upset over PPV numbers. It has no impact on your business, career or bank balance, so why would you care. If a show did 1m buys or 100k, as long as you enjoyed it, does it matter?

The point of the article was partly the fact Flexen got a better answer than most.

500k is £14m at the price. So I don't think QP will have done badly out of this. Its good because it gives them more £ to spend

So AJ's popularity is purely down to Sky? Because he was a mega star from the Olympics...

The general public don't watch much boxing during the Olympics focusing on the main Olympic sports.

Not helped by the fact that nearly all of the fights are hidden away down the list on the red button.

AJ was timed perfectly with the mainstream media being all over Froch Groves 2 and all the eyes on that. It was Hearn’s first mega show and Joshua (who was on the undercard) was just about to be the main face of Hearn’s exclusivity with Sky.

My original post was stating that AJ Vs Chisora on DAZN would do less than 500k...

However Sky would have had a big hand in AJs popularity.
It's the biggest boxing platform in the UK by a mile.
Would Chisora and Whyte have made anywhere near as much money if it weren't for Sky's promotion over the years?
I think Eddie massively underestimated this and thought Matchroom's success was fully down to him rather than having an exclusive deal with Sky.

If AJ is a massive superstar in his own right DAZN's owner might finally start making some money on his fights. But I think you're more likely to see pigs fly

I'm shocked it did more than 500k. Especially at that price. BT is a much smaller platform than Sky too. People can slag the fight off all they want but this is why it happened - easy money.

This is a boxing forum, not a celebrity forum. You are left scraping at the bottom of the barrel now that Joshua has been proven not to be the boxer you thought he was, so now you've been reduced to clinging on to his celebrity.

Do people in Brixton say "mom"? I thought that was an American thing. I forgot that most from Brixton idolise much of American culture...
