Why didn't Mayweather avenge his 9 defeats in the amateurs like Lomachenko avenged his one???

Indeed Mayweather had better opportunities etc
But of the six fighters Todorov beat as a pro they combined at end of their careers had a record of 23 wins and 225 losses, Todorov losing his only other bout to a debut boxer who did end their career with 13 wins.
So sadly i do not think he would have been a top pro, and indeed his beating of Mayweather at the Olympics was controversial.

Amateur fighters can fight other amateurs outside of tournaments, but amateur matches are rarely held between world class amateurs in different countries outside of tournaments.

The difference is that Mayweather won when it actually mattered. What is their pro records?

Loma must surely have the greatest AM record, is that correct? That is just incredible!

But if someone has to go to the length of using the greatest-ever AM record, to somehow degrade Floyd Mayweather's ring accomplishments, that just looks flat desperate. One could just as easily say 'Floyd is undefeated, why did Loma lose? Why couldn't he stay undefeated as a pro like Mayweather?'

Why just single out Mayweather, what about all the ATGs that have unavenged AM losses? I don't get it?

this is such a stretch. the idea of someone needing to avenge an amateur loss is just a thing that is brought up to promote fights that would be happening anyway. most of the guys who beat floyd as amateurs either didnt go pro or didn't get anywhere near mayweather's level. if Lewis had lost his 3rd pro fight and become a journeyman, nobody was going to demand that Bowe avenge his loss in the olympics.

Mayweather did beat him. He was robbed at the olympics.
