Don't recall seeing this one, think it could be a great battle. So Tim Witherspoon, from the Holmes fight, he was at his best there imo. Meeting Vitali Klitschko, let's say from the Danny Williams fight.? That dangerous right hand from TW is gonna cause Vitali problems, Klitschko has the chin to take it but it could upset his game.
I can't see Tim stopping Vitali but it is feasible that he could outbox him over the distance. Tim's mobility and defense would put the elder Klitschko (and the younger one too) off balance on occasion. Would be a pretty close one though. Unlike quite a lot of people,I see Vitali as being the slightly better one out of the two brothers although both were two of the best heavies post Lennox Lewis era.
I think this could go either way Tim gave Holmes a hell of a fight.Tim could box and he had a dangerous right hand, both were durable. It probably comes down to conditioning Vitali was always in shape Tim not so much,if Witherspoon has been diligent in the gym,its a toss up fight in which I will slightly lean towards the American.
Yep he's gotta be in good shape, mate. Other wise Klitschko gets it for me. Vitali's not gonna fade like Frank did, so Tim has to be ready for a tough un.
Tim wins on cuts within 8-10 rounds . Vitali should real vulnerability against overhand rights against Lewis and a propensity to cuts.
Yes, Vitali lost on cuts in 1 of 250+ boxing matches. It is likely to happen again! He seldom cut is any of his matches. Yet your calling a cuts stoppage? Not. It would be a fight though, Vitali is better than the guys Witherspoon beat. And better than the guys Witherspoon barely egged or lost on points to. Unfortunately Timmy was shafted by not getting a fight with Tyson. A Don King special.
Witherspoon was in line to fight Mike Tyson, had he beat Bonecrusher Smith 2nd time who was substitute I believe. Witherspoon decided not to turn up vs Bonecrusher, and Bonecrusher saw his opportunity, and beat an out of shape unmotivated Witherspoon to get his chance vs Tyson. I don't think at that point in Witherspoon's career, with his weight ballooning up all over the place. That he would of put up much of a fight vs a prime Mike Tyson.
I like Spoon, just don’t see him winning this one. Vitali by a comfortable decision 10-2ish maybe 9-3
Agreed. Tim just looked like he'd said screw it, mentally, against Smith. Now the Spoon that took on Larry.. He was up for a fight!!
Vitali saw something he didn't like about Hasim Rahman , hence the constant pullouts. Spoon was better than Rahman. I see him causing Vitali issues. At the end of the day he is the better boxer.
Good to see some things remain consistent. It is 2023, and you are still a biased butthurt hater who DKSAB. Carry on!
